How da hell do you war them all day without feeling like you're going to spontaneously combust?  Do you just not wear them in thhe summertime?  I tried one (pic is my avi)  and thought I would die of heat stroke!  By the time I got home and whipped that thing off my natural hair was sopping wet.

Any advice?

Gurrrrlll - I couldn't do it!  I came out of my braids and wore a wig for one week in the Houston heat - that's why you see me rocking the short cut now......

I don't just have issues, I have subscriptions!  I'm saving on the newsstand price.......

Well I was thinking about highlights or a cut and found a cute wig that was both and thought I'd try it out before making a commitment.  It did not help that it was 90 degrees the day I tried it out for work.  After work I had the convertable top down cuz I thought that would cool me down, then I put the air on with the top down, then just said to hell with it and put the top up.

I was looking forward to a new style option, but it ain't for me!

I saw that and I usually wear my natural hair and when its time for a relaxer I do the curly thing and it looks like I have a curl.

I wear wigs year around and have done so for years.  Look over there in my avatar....and I'm in the hot Georgia heat.

Admittedly, they take some getting use to and I have been known to go into the ladies room to get a scalp break, but wigs are a necessity for me with my active lifestyle.

Be sure to wear a stocking cap over your natural hair.

I don't know how you do it!  I do wrap my hair and do the stocking cap

I have been wearing wigs for the last 2 years, this being my 2nd summer.  I wear them for convenience and style.  I have long hair but its soft and does not hold the styles I like to wear, especially in the summer.  The wig makes me feel like my hair is done everyday and it's just one less thing to worry about.

Now I admit they are hot and it is one of the 1st things I take off when I get home, but I like them and I guess I just got use to it.

Did you braid your natural hair and use and wig cap?

I just wrap  my hair before putting on the stocking cap.  I migt have to explore braids-I don't think I have what it takes to be a wi wearer.

I JUST took down my braids yesterday after only having them 3 weeks.  They are a pain in the azz as well.

Right now, I'm rocking my short hair cut with the long bang.  After I work out, this style will be ruined and you guessed it....back to the wig for the "in between hairdo."

Good luck on finding a style for your lifestyle.  Knowing me, I will probably have a weave next week.
