Question for wig wearers?

After 3 weeks?!  I don't have the patience to sit in the chair all that time to take em down that soon.  I have been thinking about a weave...its just something I've never tried before.  I've always worn my own hair except the few times I tried braids.  Unfortunaletly the lady that does my hair isn't all that creative and full of experimentation.  I might wait till I go on vacation back to Phoenix and let my old guy do it.

Michelle,

I wear wigs pretty frequently. And for the summer I am sure to sport the ones with less hair than normal.  Whether it be a short cut or a wispy doobie type style.  Not all of them feel like helmets depending on how they are made.

You need to look for the ones with the breathable scalp......you could even do a half wig.....where the top portion of your head is your own hair and just the back is wigged out.

I know its alot...especially in the heat.  But shoot when you want to look cute, you do what you gotta do.   Least I do

Its not like our hair would hold up in this heat anyway.   So I dont mind a little sweat versus the frizzy look.   Good luck on finding one that makes you feel pretty and cool

In life,  and especially on this journey there are sure to be days when you falter and give in.......just remember to never give up.

The one I was wearing was kind of whispy and not heavily haired. I still thought I my head was gonna explode!  i'll stick with my natural do and some heavy duty gel to lay down the edges!

I am from Alabama....and even in Alabama heat, I wore wigs and weave in the summer.

Now in Ohio, it is even easier to wear them LOL

#1...ensure your natural hair is freshly washed and scalps oiled....either braid your hair in cornrows or put it in a wrap.

#2...protect your hair with a satin or silk wig scarf....this will allow your hair and head to breath

#3.....use a human hair wig or a really good synthetic wig brand with ventilation (by looking at how the tracks are sewn onto the wig cap). Never buy a wig without ventilation.

I wear them all the time. It's better if you braid your own hair under it and make sure the mesh of the wig has wide openings, so the air can flow through.
