Scared of Losing too much. Please Help
im 243 today....i find oiut what my surgery date will be next week...and a thought that hovers over me is what will happen if i go down too much....i've been researching the surgery since april and have learned so much but one thing i hadnt entertained the thought of if i pass my personal comfort level and look emaciated....i wouldnt want to jeopardize my progress by trying to gain weight either....any advice
You're about where I started. I know telling you not to worry about it is of no help to you; but, it really is not a cause for concern. The person who can't stop loosing is not as common as the person struggling to loose the last few pounds. Just check out the other boards and read way back for proof of this.
You're a relative light weight like me. Its not likely that pounds will melt away at hyperspeed. You'll probably loose well, then slow down, then crawl to goal. The only advicde I can give you is keep it in perspective.
Looking emaciated is a long way off for you right now. Once you are no longer obese and have a normal BMI, you can consider what your final goal weight should be. At six months out I'm no where near making that decision yet.

I'm 5'8 - started at 353 and never got below 177 at my BEST..... I am 199 today - size 12.
i found my body regulates itself - and unless *I* act a fool, things work out.
WLS doesn't mean that you automatically lose XX lbs. Some folk have it and never lose more than 50 or less because they don't do the right things. I'd say you're a normal paranoid, but giving the tool too much credit.... LOL
You'll be fine! (literally!)

Hello, I guess this in normal fear ,
but you will quickly see that your new pouch is just a "tool" babe you will be WORKING
for where you want to go trust me. Just stay focused start off doing the right thing and continue it... Have you had this conversation with your surgeon ?Because I swear mine told me at 6mos he estimate me to be ***lbs and I was. The nutritionist will also teach you how to "maintain" the weight when you get to where you want to be. Good Luck with your Journey!
