I WANT MY OLD LIFE BACK
I am looking to eat something else so if I could get some tuna. That will be the bomb!!!
Working on me - want to be better in everyway not just physically!!! Its a process no time to judge or be judged!!!!

Hold up he is eating tuna??? I missed that part! Now I REALLY don't feel sorry for him!
why would a person need to eat that stuff this early out...ain't like yo azz really be hungry! Doctors are real funny from location to location...I think I am going to research his doc...just on gp..LOL because it is wayyyyy to early to eat mess like that, no wonder he is in pain!
Ok dude, back away from the tuna and stuff go back to liquids. (Protien shakes - It takes me all day to drink one, and vitamin water) have been working for me. Then next week go to mushies and soft fish. Those are my docs instructions and I am not having gas or pain. I thought he was being too strict but when I look at your post, I am grateful I am following his instructions.

MAN UP, DAYUM! Wait, that's three.
For real, do you REALLY want your old life back? Very few ppl have it all peaches and cream when they first get off the table; we all react differently.
You say you cannot move without breaking out into a sweat...how much movement did you do previously?
The gas will go away. Someone suggested Gas-X, I think...here's another thing that will help to get rid of the gas...ready? wait for it: WALKING.
The more I walked, the more the gas would escape...yeah, I said it..ESCAPE. lol.
Man, this is just the beginning. Nothing great comes easy. You just have to sweat out the beginning. Trust and believe, unless there is some other co-morbidity ur not telling about, it gets only better. You already did the hard part: getting up on the table KNOWING you could possible die there. The rest, believe it or not, is gravy.
Again: MAN UP!

@mgrimes, I'm still pre-op so I can't give you any suggestions. Although I can say that I WISH I was in your position right now. I'm still jumping through hoops w/the insurance company.

Just hang in there and like a previous poster said, remember WHY you got the surgery in the first place. If you old life was so great, you wouldn't have gotten on the table in the first place. Just remember that. Something had to drive you to make such a serious, life-altering decision. Stick with it and modify your diet, as others have suggested. You'll be fine.
I also had a short liquid phase (3 days) then puree when I was where you are. I could have a steak, but it had to be a lean 2 oz pureed steak. Your pouch will fight you if foods are not soft and near liquid enough to go through a straw as milk shake would (please, no milk shakes).
That old life may have been comfortable, but it will take you to an early grave. The skin is off the pear so you just have to work your program. You can and will do it because there is no turning back.
Pay attention to what the vets on this board tell you. They speak plain and they speak the truth. No bs, you will learn a lot from them.
