OT - From the "WTF Files..."

The majority of the time the wife/mother knows that the man is abusing the kids.  When we were foster parents we chose not to foster kids who had been sexually abused because we just couldn't handle it.  Two 12 year olds came through the system pregnant from incest the first year we fostered.  The mother's knew... they knew and did nothing to protect those children.  After they were removed one mom tried to protect the man and the other finally stepped up to the plate for her daughter. 

There's a lot of twisted thinking going on with those women too.  A friend's neice was a victim of incest and ended up pregnant.  Her father said she enticed him.  She was 13 years old...  The mom believed the man.  Her grandmother came and got her and she didn't return to that house. 

I think Mackenzie is finally trying to heal.  Some people need to tell the secret to break it's hold on them.  Some people only need to tell one or two people and others may need to shout it from the rooftop.  Her sisters may not have been abused but that doesn't mean she wasn't ...sometimes abusers will fixate on one particular child or they may abuse all the kids in the home.  There's no rhyme or reason to a sick mind with drugs in the mix.
