Goin backwards
Thank you, I did not know there was such a thing as a water % scale. do it measure weight and tell you % water? What should your % water be? This is interesting. I would like to purchase one. Also, Do food lion carry those brands of low card chooses? I just really need to get back on track. I had a sandwich and had not really had any bread or sandwich of any kind since surgery. WOW i slip and the pounds come on that fast. Boy that's scarrrry.
A body water % scale keeps me from loosing my mind because I have water retention issues so my weight fluctuates a lot. I found TANITA to be most accurate.
I got the Tanita UM80 model at Target for around $50.00. You enter gender and age and it measures weight, body fat% and body water %. My surgeon and the gym have professional versions and it is spot on accurate withtheir readings.
My body water averages 42-44%. Below I'm dehydrating, above I'm retaining. Most people fall in the mid 40's if properly hydrated according to what I have read.
I can't speak for Food Lion but these items are not hard to find. You can find low carb tortillas in most supermarkets. Dreamfields low carb pasta is becomming available at many supermarkets. Walmart carries both.
You need to become an expert lable reader. Also check out products by Walden Farms. They have many condiments and dressings that are zero carb and zero calorie. Publix carries them and I think Stop & Shop and Shoprite. They are also online through the website.
Last, netrition.com has a variety of low carb products. I use the site for research then check the stores before ordering. Items like Josephs Lavish Bread I discovered online but found at Walmart. It is a very flavorful tortilla type bread. Low carb and half is plenty with only 50 calories per serving.

I could be wrong here but you had surgery in May... Correct?
so you are 4 maybe 5 months out, right??
I think...just my opinion...that you are a little early for the Protein Train.
You should have a food plan from your NUT that takes you thru at least the 1st 6 months.
Weigh your foods or eyeball your 2 oz portions. You still should be eating very small meals.
I think you are taking far to many chances on your food choices this early out.
No breads,
No bad Carbs,
No rice,
No pastas
No white sugar
I know that sounds hard but this is the prooving ground for new eating habits right now.
If you don't make the mental adjustment NOW you never will.
Take all your supplements
Find Low calorie, low sugar protein drinks and bars.
Get in all your daily water - no excuses.
Get 30 - 60 minutes of cardio in each day.
Wishing you all the best on your journey.
