unrealistic goal???
I really haven't seen banders do that unless they are high weight - and you're looking to lose 90lbs. So, that 40 lbs would be almost 50% of your total goal in less than 1/3 of the one year honeymoon timeframe. Not to be a spoil sport - but it doesn't seem realistic.
The purpose of the band is to lose SLOWLY. 40lbs in 2 months is more normal for an RNYer. Can I ask why 12/23 is so exacting a goal for you?

V'N MY RNY. WORKING FOR ME BECAUSE I WORK FOR IT. ![]()
the first six months of becoming a bandster, i averaged about 10lbs a month. after that, i really can't say that i was as devoted to the program, so the weight loss slowed somewhat. i gave myself a year to get to my goal (we seem to be identical in starting weight and goal weight area). i'm satisfied with where i'm at now, so the "determination" to lose more really isn't there. my doc is pleased with where i'm at and doesn't think i need to lose anymore to conform to some numbers on a table (bmi). with that, just know that you have to be patient with the band and work the hell out of it to get the results you want. good luck to you.

From what I have seen those who DO NOT excercise or follow rules tend to be the very slow losers with the band.
Good luck
Hello and congrats to you on your surgery date. Each person will lose the weight differently. "I" was able to lose 21 lbs my first month and at my three month check up I had lost 39 lbs. Good luck to you.
