@ I always pay it off at the end of the month.

I feel like this - if I can't afford to pay for it by the end of the month then that means I can't afford it and I don't need to be trying to buy it.  I don't have a problem with delaying gratification and saving up to buy something.  I believe the only thing a person should be paying for over a long period of time is a big ticket item like a car or a house.

Credit cards are just for convenience as far as I'm concerned.  I don't charge stuff because I have to.  I just don't like to carry around a lot of money and they're good to have in case of emergencies.

Well... Bank of America is a HUGE RIP OFF....first they call me and try to get me to get "accidental insurance" I NEVER AGREED TOO..however, they have been charging this to my credit card bill $25 dollars every month, I just recently looked at my bill closely and noticed the charges...so I screamed at them yesterday and had them remove it....ALSO...my payroll check is automatically drafted into my checking account...I have 3 check cards with BOA...one is for my checking account and one is for ATM and one is for savings...that's a whole lot to keep up with..

My payroll check gets debited into my ATM account, it's is screwed up and one day I forgot to transfer funds over to my checking (I do online banking) and it bounced...HOWEVER I had damn near $20,000 IN MY REGULAR CHECKING ACCOUNT..why couldn't they have just taken that money from my ATM account instead of charging me a insufficient charge of $35 dollars....

and once again.......

FAILURE TO PLAN AND ACT EFFECTIVELY ON YOUR PART DOES NOT CONSTITUTE AN EMERGENCY ON MINE...........

Now your bank is supposed to 'think' for you?  why didn't you set up overdraft transfer between the two accounts?  they are YOUR accounts - not BofA's.  They are a company - there to MAKE MONEY - and if you poorly manage your accounts - why is it on THEM to make sure you don't incur a fee when they have provided ALL the tools and products necessary to prevent it from occuring????

I don't just have issues, I have subscriptions!  I'm saving on the newsstand price.......

Hey Naomi ,

Yeah...I understand that dilemma...it happened to me too...I have a similar set up. You have to ask them to link the two accounts together...(at least this is the case at my bank) to have overdraft protection. The only account I don't have linked is the one I use for PayPal!

ETA: Yikes....we bumped heads again MM...basically similar reply.

YES...I DO have overdraft proection too and they never let checks (bounce) they will just charge me a fee for it, and I am SO busy, I never have time to deal with stuff like this....but after stupid crap like this happening which the bank..BANKS ON...I will have my company to move my payroll account directly to my online checking this way I don't have to remember to make that transfer every month  otherwise....hope things are going well for you..

So I have to say that I LOVED reading this post! Very entertaining. Everybody had good points. I'm only 23 and my mom taught me to have only one credit card and to ONLY use it for emergencies. So because of her my husband and I have a house, two cars, and really good paying jobs. THANKS MAMA!!!
