An Officer and a Lady.....Got Engaged!

Hello BAFam and friends.  2011 must have been a great year for love!!  It was for me!  A lot of my BAFam have followed my journey, and encouraged me along the way.  I could not have made it through this process without you all.  Thanks for the love and support BAF.  One of the many benefits of this wl journey for me was rediscovering myself and gaining back some confidence.  That confidence allowed me to open myself up once again to the possibilities of love again.  And at 53.....love was found again!!...  Please meet my fiancee`, Lt. Colonel Boyd Joye, US Army.........





Since this is the second time around for us both, we're planning a trip to the JOP next month for a quiet ceremony......reception(s) to follow this spring!

OMG!!! Janice! I am marrying the actor look a like and you are marrying the real Officer.  YOU LOOK BEAUTIFUL....did I use all caps...well they are not big enough to describe your beauty. AND you know darn good and well that you are kicking 53 in the butt....40 something maybe...30 something more likely. 50s never looked this good!!! I am so happy for you! Yep...2012 is our year!!!  Congratulations!!!! He's very handsome and blessed to have such a sweetheart for a bride.

Love is in the air!  And thanks for those encouraging words.  I thought my 50's would be depressing, and I would feel so old, but nothing could be further from the reality.  I feel so much more healthier as I approach 54 than I did in my 40's or 30's.  I carried all that extra weight during those years, and going through this weight loss process the last three years has changed my life totally.

Janice you have done fabulous with your WL and program!!!! Congrats! I sure will let you know what is happening as we move forward. We already had one hiccup. Our original date of Nov 3rd will not work....but there are a lot of others. We will just keep brainstorming until we get the right one but we are still looking at Sept, Nov, Dec. this year. Will know more definitely once we meet with the pastor again.    

Thanks Lisa.  I'm still working my tool and the plan!  It's been so refreshing and helpful to have a partner who values physical fitness and encourages you too.  My love has a serious military fitness routine that I won't even lie and say I can hang with...., but he has adapted it enough so that we can walk and work out together.  It's a win-win!!

Ha! I have not logged on this forum in months and when I do I see love is in the air!! Wow you look so beautiful and like a teenager in love, congrats on your engagement to that handsome officer.
