Good evening, everyone. I am usually a lurker on this forum. I had surgery 3 weeks ago and so far it has not been good. I have already been re-admitted to the hospital for dehydration. I am looking to talk to someone who started this journey somewhere in the same ballpark as me. I was 474 lbs. going into surgery. I am not sure that the issues that I am having are a result of my size or if it is just effects of the surgery itself. Please feel free to call me at 704.938.4964. By giving my number you must understand how desparate I am. I look forward to hearing from someone soon. Blessings and peace, Timmalynn

Dear Timmanlynn, A lady I work with had the dehydration problem early on as well but is doing great now. She just barely qualified for the surgery, so I don't think the starting size was the issue. She said she wasn't sure what was going on with her pouch and assumed what she felt was that she was too full instead of needing more. So she drank even less water, and she is also one of those who tries to do too much too soon instead of following doctor's orders. So she pushed herself too much, drank too little, and wound up dehydrated. I think part of our struggle is the uniqueness of each experience--and trying to learn to pay attention to our body and read it rightly. I started out at 398 and didn't have a clue as to even where my stomach was. I did ask the surgeon--one of my first questions as a matter of fact. I was used to going by my gut instead of my stomach. I find it isn't always easy to understand the growls and gurgles. I'm sure things will get better for you if you stick with your doctor's instructions. It takes a while to get going, but it really will be worth it. Best of luck, Sally
