iced tea drinkers
I myself am a southern sweet tea lover...but i''ve been making my own type of iced tea for years now, and i love it...especially in the summer.
I take a bunch of bags of mint tea, and a bunch of chammomile and brew it up...then i chill it. I use splenda to sweeten...though I used to use honey. It's the most refreshing and light tasting thing in the world..and no caffeine. I'm pre-op but i absolutely love this stuff, and it'd work quite well post-op too.
I prefer to drink tea over soft drinks anyway. I carry the Lipton brand green tea packets to mix with water to work, my favorite being the honey and lemon flavor. I like to have a cup of herbal tea -decaff- I like the Celestial seasons - makes some flavorful blends that I enjoy, pomegranit red, lemon cranberry zinger, and Chai. I always use Splenda - I live in South East Oklahoma where Sweet Tea is one of the beverages of choice. I carry splenda packets with me in case I go to a place that doesn't have it for their customers, if I leave enough empty yellow packets around maybe they will pick up on the hint---Ha-Ha! I also have some of the Cyrstal Light Peach tea singles to mix with water--for a change of pace.
Hi,
I drink tea everyday!!
I use whatever tea bags are on sale and decaf. I make a big pitcher of it and add a pack of splenda to my glass. Usually a pack per 8 oz.
My purse is also full of splenda so if I'm out, I order a large 32 oz cup of unsweet tea and add the splenda so I can sip while I'm shopping or whatever I'm doing.
Good luck in your journey

Hey ladies,
Thanks for all the replies. I'm drinking my tea with splenda and I find it hard to get used to. I'm thinking that maybe i make it too strong..I dunno. I use 8 teabags per gallon. Ya all think thats too much?
Celestial Seasonings teas have come out with the on-the-go individual packets that you add to a bottle of water. They have green teas and herbal teas -- sweetened with natural stevia. They are pretty good. Something different to try. I'm hooked on the Walmart generic of peach tea. I think it tastes better when I make them with the individual packets in the bottle of water than when I make a big pitcher full -- probably all in my head! I'm still on my six month diet before surgery, but have been using Splenda since it came out. I love that it is in so many of the products in the stores now. I also have substituted it in place of real sugar in recipes and dishes that I take to church potlucks -- I don't usually bring home leftovers so it must be allright for most people! Good luck.
