Hi folks! Tonight my WLS support group is having a strength training class with stretchy bands. We warm up with doing the 1 mile Leslie Sansone walk dvd. It is a lot of fun. What did you do to move your body today? Lori

I saw a piece on the news that said for fat burning the treadmill was better than the recumbent bike.... so today I went back to the treadmill..... 10 minutes on the elliptical (this thing is a killer!) 45 minutes weight training - legs 30 minutes treadmill Karen

Thanks for the info on the treadmill and fat burning...I hope it is true as the treadmill is my cardio machine of choice! Good for you and what you are doing! I can't handle the elliptical as it hurts my knees, but, I know I get a tough workout! Lori

Lori, I missed the post about your kitty and your friend, so I don't know exactly what happened to them but I am saddened and sorry nonetheless. As for exercise, I have prayer service this evening so I will not have too much time to work out - less than an hour to squeeze it in. I am planning 30 minutes of cardio followed by some ab crunches. I think that's about all I'll have time to do. Sorry again to hear about your recent losses. I'll will pray for you tonight. Hugs, Tracy

Thanks Tracy, I had a very rough week. I had to put my dear 14 year old kitty to sleep due to liver failure and one of my deejay friends died of a brain hemorrhage...it has been very hard on me. Exercising helps a lot though. Thanks for the prayers! Lori

I did my leg strengthening exercises earlier, I'm up to 25 reps now. When I first started doing these, I felt like my hips were going to pop right out of their sockets. It's not so bad anymore. I'm going outside right now for my short walk. I should have gone earlier when the sun was shining, things look kind of ominous in the sky now Lori, is it snowing over there? Our Denver weather folks can't decide whether we're going to get hammered with 12" of snow tonight. One said yes and the other said, check our newscast in the morning. Well heck, that's really helpful. By then, I can look out the window and see if the snow is up to the rooftop -- I won't need to watch TV. I guess it all depends on whether the cold air from Canada meets up with the leftovers from Hurricane Paul. It seems too warm outside to snow, but then, this is Colorado. Stranger things have happened! Kix

Kix, When I first started all my exercising 14 months ago, I could walk around the block, but, with difficulty. I couldn't really do leg lifts or sit ups or much of anything...gradually it has changed for me...it is so amazing...this is so great you are making progress! It has been lightly snowing here. Supposedly, we have a lot more on the way... I guess its winter! Lori

This is only my second week at the gym but I think I had a great day. 32 minutes on the tredmill 145 calories burned 20 minutes on the bike 180 calories burned 30 minutes of weights (they gym I go to has this one room that is set up like at Curves) so I do those machines for 30 minutes.
