OK- here is the thing... For the last month or more, I am not hungry...I tried doing more protien shakes, coming up with new stuff that may appeal to me, well nothing is good .. Most everything makes me ill I have to make myself eat. I know that I am not getting in enough calories and most days now not enough protien. I still have 60lbs to get off and I need some suggestions or something so please any advice will be much appreciated.

When you say everything is making you ill, what exactly do you mean? Can you not keep food down? That might be an issue to take up with your surgeon. I still have times when I just don't want to eat, so I try to take it easy on those days. I'll try some easier to eat foods, that while not bland, aren't too highly seasoned. It can be tough adapting to our new needs, so best of luck, Sally

I can keep it down, I just don't like to eat. I spoke with the dr, and the nut they have for us...both said this is a phase it will pass. Well it hasn't so far. I just have no desire for food. Thanks so much for responding.. Susan

Well at least it isn't that you can't keep food down. I understand the not being interested in eating. I did go through that and still have occasional days. I kept a log of my proteins so focused on meeting my nutritional needs rather than eating for the pleasure of eating. I'd look for protein rich foods so you don't have to eat as much. If you like milk, maybe you could use that to help meet both the protein and the liquid needs. Isn't it odd to have to force yourself to eat! Sally

Susan, We all go through this journey so differently. I'm hungry all the time. Drives me crazy. I'd still like to lose another 40 lbs and it isn't looking good. Do you have a nutritionist you can work with through your surgeon? It really sounds like it is time to talk to him/her. I do start out my day with 1 cup of fat free cottage cheese with tomato cut up in it. It is 26 grams of protein. Wonder if you could tolerate that? Lori

Cottage cheese I can handle for the most part. I just don't have any desire for food. I have talked to both and said this is a phase.....So I guess I will have to suck it up for the most part. I am so glad your results was good news. Susan

Susan, I'm going through the very same thing right now, and I'm 6 months post-op. Yesterday I went for my checkup and talked to the DR about this. She said it's exactly how she wants me thinking, because that's what's helping to get rid of the fat pad I have built up. I'm actually starting to think like a thin person ... someone who doesn't think about food 24/7. I sometimes dread having to eat, I'll fix a nice meal that sounds good and then when my plate is in front of me, I don't want it. I'm never hungry, I only eat because I know I have too. A bite or two and I'm more than done! This isn't a problem for me because most of my blood work was excellent, I just have to add a B complex daily. The DR says this feeling might pass, but we're hoping it won't for a while because this is one of the reasons I'm loosing so much weight and doing so well. Hang in there, I know just what your going through, it's just a huge change from being a food addict that it feels very strange! Jan
