Thank you everyone...  I am feeling more like I can do this now with all of your encouragement...  I will do this with your support...I hate that I have to turn to drastic measures but I just can't stick to a low cal low fat diet with so many options...  The amazing thing about me is I am a full-time nurse and work 12.5 hr shifts.  So I do get excercise at work but need to increase at home.  If I didnt work I can only imagine where I would be but in bed.  That's the scary thing to me.  I have a 16 month old daughter who I need to lose weight to play and be a better mom too.. and its getting time to think about a second child but no way this big... I have decided that this is the year 2008, the year I lost my weight.  That's my motto..

I dont really know what to tell you myself. I had 2 surgeons tell me that I had to lose weight before they would do my surgery. I couldnt do it. I dont understand why they dont realize theres a reason that we are coming to them for this surgery....bc diets just havent worked for us...for whatever reason.  We arent looking for the "easy way out"...gosh Ive heard that alot. Surgery isnt the easy route by no means. Anyway...I kept looking for a different surgeon...One that wouldnt require any weight loss...except the 2 wk pre-op diet...which is fairly mandatory I think....I can handle that...will be hard, but not impossible like saying I had to lose 50 lbs, etc.. Im going to Mexico for my VSG. My surgery date is March 14. Im really excited. I wish you luck on your journey. If you really want to try to lose that weight, I would encourage you to see a Nutritionist. They usualy encourage a low carb, high protein diet....around 1200 calories/day. You just have to find what works for you and that u can maintain doing for an extended length of time....bc it will take time for you to lose the amount of weight they are requesting.  Im here if u want to talk....anytime..
