Hi Dorthe I too am a zombie. I dont even know what the word sleep means anymore. Sometimes at night I feel like i have Adult ADD. I don't get sleepy til about 7:00 am. Good thing I'm not working. I use to use Tylenol PM and it worked but after a while, I think my body just got use to it because it stopped working Now I just cruise the OH boards, clean my house or watch movies. I have it something terrible. I usually go to bed around 9:00 and am often awake for the day at 3:00 or 3:30. Of course as soon as I reach my desk I feel like I could fall into a coma and sleep forever. I often sleep through my entire lunch hour. Mark

I had insomnia for the first... at least 6 months, thankfully it went away, but I usually had to be awake for over 20 hours before I could even think about sleeping. unfortunately, I never found a solution.

Dorthe, I had insomnia for over 3 months after my surgery, (I will be 4 months out as of 08/27.) I usually couldn't fall asleep until about 6:00 a.m. I tried Benadryl and Tylenol PM and they both made me feel MORE awake. I finally went to my primary care physician and she prescribed Trazodone. It is a miracle drug. I take it and immediately go to bed. I'm asleep in 10-15 minutes and I sleep all night. Until I read the message board I thought I was the only one with this problem. Good luck to you!

I have it sometimes. I have two Rxs - one for Ambien (when I will be able to sleep at least 7-8 hours) and Sonata (when it will be less than 7-8 hours - it only "lasts" for 4). I try not to take them too often because they can cause dependency, but once or twice a week it really helps. Sometimes just getting your body back on the right sleeping pattern for a couple of nights evens it out for the rest of the week. Anyway, talk with your doctor and maybe they can get you something short term. Good luck!! Ann in Duluth (GA)
