Hi Kim
Welcome to our home. We are a great group and we answer your questions while we have a good time. We are truly all freinds here. You have found a home. My BMI was 71 pre op and after 13 months Im down 147lbs. Feel great, no complications, and love helping pre ops with the knowledge that I already have. Feel free to ask away anything you need to know. Just one rule in this house, HAVE FUN.

Baton Rouge has actually faired quite well through both hurricanes (Katrina and now Rita). I am actually new to Louisiana so this type of weather is all new to me. I am orginially from Colorado and I will take the snow anyday over this. We did lose power for about a week after Katrina... that was interesting spending a week, in August, in Louisiana, with no A/C. Needless to say I was not a happy camper. To make matter's worse I had my consult with the Surgeon when we were without power so I had to take a cold shower and could not use a blow dryer or curling iron on my hair it goes without saying that I wasn't feeling super confident when I met the surgeon, but all turned out great anyway.
The only other side effect of the hurricanes is that our city literally doubled in size over night. Traffic really sticks and it'**** or miss to find staples at the grocery store. It's been 3 weeks you'd think the stores would have figured out by now that they need to purchase extra as more people are buying.
All in all we were blessed than non of our family or friends were affected in a major way by the hurricanes.
Welcome! Welcome!
Congrats on being approved for surgery.
I was on OH about 2 months, and I didn't feel at home until I found this board either. People here actually understand what I go through on a day-to-day basis and I don't have to feel like I need to explain everything constantly.
Best wishes and good luck!
Huggs,
Ruth
