Greetings from N.C
Hello, Everyone My name is Kimberly and I'm currently waiting for my WLS ..I 've had to put it on hold until I get my BMI down it's an 88
the last time I checked . I was told to drop 50 and we would be back on, however I'm still a little up set that at the last min. before my scheduled date the Dr. 96 it
. My Husband and I was a little up set that this Dr. didn't take in consideration my Muscle mass I've all way weight lifted ,and did water aroebics . He had no clue that I had just had a child and a up- down c-section scar. Since this awful day 10/31/05 I have started a high protien diet low carb diet and I making real head way . I'm starting to question
should I do the surgery with that Dr. , any thoughts would be helpful
. Thank you Kimmy
Kimmy,
For me it was critically important that I was comfortable with my surgeon. If you can shop around, I think you should. You may come back to this guy, but, then you would know you were making the right decision for you! My surgeon is a woman. She really knows how to take care of her patients. I've never regetted picking her. I consulted with 3 other programs before choosing hers.

I am in NC too. I started with 2 other practices and backed out due to the arrogance or lack of care portrayed by the places. I have no regrets with the group I went with and many, many people drive from all over the state to go there. I would suggest you head up to I40 and look for a blue devil. You won't be disappointed, I promise.
Kimmy, you sound like you are going through some very frustrating times with this wls. I am so excited about your new little baby... how absolutly exciting! I believe that it is very important for each of us to feel comfortable and trusting with the doctor we choose for such major surgery. I did go in and read about your doctor, sounds like he has had alot of very satisfied patients, that he does sometimes take alot of time to prepare his patients for wls (one mentioned 2 years), and that he does one lap surgery a week. I do know with the lap surgery one has to have not much distance from the entry point to the surgery location - the instruments are only so long. Maybe with all your weight lifting and arobics your tummy area is toned too large right now for this type of lap surgery. It sounds like he has a very good nurse or office person that assists him with his wls patients, perhaps you might give them a call and discuss your frustrations with them. Kimmy, we are all here for you... keep up the great dieting work! You can do it......
I care,
Aunt Pam
