Will my BIG FAT belly go away?

Hi I am 2 months out and have lost 46 lbs. since I last checked 2 weeks ago. Before surgery I lost 62 lbs. Anyway, I carry all my weight in my stomach. In the past few weeks I can really tell I'm starting to loose inches everywhere except my stomach. My pants fit me so funny because they are baggy everywhere but fit me around my stomach. If you carried a lot of tummy weight, When did you notice a big difference?? I know I'm only 2 months out but I'm sick of looking pregnant. Thanks Kay 450/388/342/175ish http://photobucket.com/albums/y217/Special-Kay/?sc=3 (the link for recent pics of me)

Don't get discouraged. First off you have lost weight in your stomach. Second, I have lost from 344 to 218 and I am finally noticing that mine doesn't stick out as much. Again I lost a ton in it, but it is now starting to look smaller compared to my large breasts which got smaller a little faster. You look great, you have lost a lot. Your breasts are much smaller so I don't think you are noticing how much smaller your tummy really is. You look great. Maybe you or someone else can alter your pants a bit as you go along to help out. Keep up the good work. Loris

hi kay: it sounds as though you're doing fantastic for your first couple months. i hope you're feeling really, really proud - cause you have every right to be. your tummy will probably be like mine. i was at 450 and have lost 170. the first thing to show loss was my face, then the girls deflated, then my tummy flattened and fell. gravity stinks, doesn't it? i'm hoppin and floppin around this week cause i had foot surgery and am not yet used to the crutches. and i joke that my boobs are gonna knock me out, but the really sad part is, even my upper arms and upper legs flop when i hop. i guess my response to you is this: enjoy the whole process, the tummy that lingers, the pants that fit funny, the clothes you get to give away or throw away forever. not all of your wow moments will be things you've looked forward to, but they're most certainly ALL your moments and i, for one, am just grateful to be around to be living them. take care, kay. enjoy the journey. keep in touch. have a good flippin, floppin day dorthe

I know how you feel Kay. I am 3 months out and down 42 pounds. Before surgery I had lost 23 pounds. My upper half is a little bit noticeable, shirts are loser, but not my bottom half. I think my top half has just slide down and take up residence in my lower half! My panni is hanging lower than ever, which just puts added pressure on my already aching hips and knees. I am heavy all over, but my belly has always been the worst. I just hope it goes down soon! Huggs, Ruth 416/351/healthy

Kathy, I've lost 136 lbs and 19 inches off my hips and belly. But, my belly still looks big to me. You'll lose it, it just takes time...I don't think any of us on this list will ever be asked to be swim suit models though. Lori 384/248.5/168

Hi Kay! It was a good 9 months before I saw a difference. It was a slow process too. I lost all up top then lost in the bottom half. I am now seeing my legs lose dramactically. Be patient it will happen. You take care! Hugs Lisa

I too have the "apron" problem. Its not that huge but still does affect my sizes in clothing. I cant wear certain blouses because you can see the darn thing hanging around. I would have been a size 18-16 by now but because of the "apron" I am a 24/22. I use to be a tight 28/26 going on a 30/32 in pants and 30/32 in blouses but have gone down to a loose fitting depending on the style 28/26 blouses. I have lost the weight in my face and legs first and the top half is getting smaller. My hubby says that he can see the weight loss in my legs and butt except my belly. My jeans are loose fitting in the butt and legs and I need to tailor them sot that they are not to loose, but that gets expensive after awhile. Rosie
