Wondering if anyone can give me some pointers...
I have completed all the requirements (test wist) for the surgery, only thing now is that I have to drop 28 pounds before doctor will schedule surgery. I have cut back on diet but doesn't seem to be working... have lost 3.5 pounds so far... I have been reading where different ones have been on liquid diet prior to surgery... Was wondering if you all could give me an idea what all was involved... what types of liquids, etc.... Thought I would try it for a week and see if it would help.... Any help would be greatly appreciated.... I so want to have this surgery before summer gets here...
Im not sure which pre-op diet you seen.. But I know my surgeon requires 2 weeks of pre-op diet. The rules were replace 2 meals a day with protein shakes and then eat 1 high protein low carb meal a day.. We could have all the protein shakes we wanted through out the day but only allowed 1 actual meal... I didnt do so well!!
Have you had any short term sucess with a diet in the past?? Atkins? South Beach?? You might try something like that..
Im not sure how to lose 28lbs! I never was good at diets! Thankfully my surgeon didnt require an actual weight loss before surgery- Id still be fighting for surgery..
Good luck.. hopefully someone will have some advise for you...

Join weigh****chers for a couple weeks. The first time I joined I lost 70lbs in 4 months. Then my work schedule changed, and I couldn't make the meetings. I have failed every time since then, and gained back all the weight I lost. But if you haven't tried it before, its EXCELLENT to drop weight quickly.

There are many different liquid diets, but what I did is I got rid of carbs/sugars before surgery, and just basically ate protein, vegetables, and protein shakes...since this is mostly what I was going to have to eat after surgery. I also got rid of all carbonated drinks and caffeine, since I couldn't have this after surgery either. The weight just melted off. When I did the liquid diet right before surgery, I didn't lose as much as when I did this...and it was nasty. Good luck!
