6'2 and I weigh 421 now my BMI is 54.0 but I have no health problems will I still be approved ? I have Aetna PPO I'm waiting to hear from my insurance I'm so nervous I can barely eat which I guess is a good thing loL
Dang, that's impressive. I was sleeved in 2009 and went from 389 pounds to 350 pounds. Not a resounding success. Now that I finally have insurance that will cover a revision to DS, I am going to see a surgeon. I will be interested to see what his insight is into why my sleeve didn't work. Yours sure worked, though. Congratulations on your achievement!
Woohoo!, that would be a cool gift!

I'm moving a smidgen faster on the train towards onderland. Choo, choo!! My actual weight this am was 205 (!!!) but I only track my average weight over the course of the week. My birthday is later this month... What an awesome gift it would be to see that!!!

You have too! That's very exciting! Good luck:)
I follow a ketogenic diet post-op. I also have a diagnosis of binge eating disorder. Feel free to ask me about either!

Congrats you have done great. I will be going to dr. Gagner as he did the sleeve.
Definitely check the DS board. Also make sure you get a surgeon who is skilled with revisions. I would agree to never go RNY after having the VSG unless you have no other choice.
I went from a BMI of 79 to 54 with the sleeve (299 today, down from over 430 last June). If I do revise, it will only ever be to the DS.

Next goal is 154- then I won't be 'overweight' but in the normal cat!
on 6/9/16 11:36 pm
definitely closer, but maybe not into the svelte category, lol.
Based on studies, I do know that DS is the best bet to get you to goal over all the surgeries, and the best bet for keeping you at goal, and keeping co-morbs at bay.
Thank you:)
I really appreciate your information. I know the weight loss will be slower but didn't know if it will get me closer to a normal BMI or not??
