My big 'go for broke' weekend  was last weekend in AZ for my nephew's wedding. So no Easter shenanigans this weekend. You do the best when you are away to balance enjoying the moment and not going overboard. Did bring a shaker bottle and baggies of measured protein powder...it was kinda gross mixing with water, but at least it made me feel better knowing I was getting some protein in when you have no idea what you will be eating.

I am a weigh-myself-everyday person...it is part of my accountability. But here is where you can't drive yourself crazy. Weighed myself Tuesday AM after said wedding weekend- up 5lbs in 4 days. ACK! I know I didn't eat 17,500 extra calories... so get right back to business, up my fluid intake... no change Wednesday... today down 3lbs. Other 2lbs will hopefully be off in a couple days...

Oh goodness where is everybody? Oh yeah, the holidays!, That'll do it. My mom really likes to celebrate Easter & Good Friday, lately I haven't gone pas****ching The 10 Commandments & eating some ham lol.

I really do like those cadbury eggs but decided not to buy any. Frankly I have enough candy & goodies in the house to send me into a diabetic coma! I'm one of those weird people that can buy some stuff, eat a little, then put it away, & then instead of just finishing it, find something else, buy it, eat a little, then put it away. So I have way too much stuff here. So I've been on a mission to finish up these protein bars that I've had longer than I can remember.

I actually thought about taking on that meat & critter challenge they got going on on the rny board. Don't think I'll make it though. Sheesh I bought enough for the apocalypse! Ooh I spelled it right! lol So in spite of my calories, carbs & protein skyrocketing to the stars I'm still pretty much in the same range I was last week. My stats so far:

High weight 366

This week 180

Next goal 150's & in the green of a healthy bmi.

Down 5 pounds this week to 310, after a slow last week. Nutrition took a bit of a dive over the weekend as I went to a fancy (expensive!) high tea last Sunday, and indulged a bit on scones and other things. Still only a few hundred calories over for the day and totally worth it!

Congratulations on making the decision to have WLS!  I am about 5 years out, and have kept (most of) it off with a LOT of support and different tools.  I had the VSG and paid out of pocket, so I am not sure about the insurance portion of things.

No matter how many stories I'd heard or how many people shared their journeys with me, I was still scared, and the encouragement helped make all the difference in the world. Fear of the unknown, fear of change, fear of failure, fear of loss of my relationship with food. It was a  relief to be able to come on here and know that I wasnt alone, and that other people had been where I was.

If you can, start attending local WLS support groups now so you are not alone, use every resource that you have available - Feel the Fear and do it anyhow.  I dont know if you are like me - I dont like feeling vulnerable and exposed, but I needed this help and no one would know if I didnt step out.  I learned about  different tricks and tools, but also more about the psychological aspects and hormonal - things that could blindside you or derail you.   There are many people on here and in your area that are going through the same things that you are, and it really does make a difference.

If you know that there are other issues that you need to look at, start looking at them and getting the help for them that you need now - a counselor, therapist, books, recordings, you tube - I've used them all lol!  I am an emotional eater and had to learn different methods to deal with whatever eating allowed me to ignore.  The weight loss may trigger other emotional things and if you have your supports and tools to help you in place, it will make it easier.   Good luck!

For easter I'm going to my brother's house for the weekend. They have a easter egg hunt for the kids and dinner on saturday. Sunday we will go to church. With the candy I'll try moderation but have been out of control the last two days with jelly beans and cookies. Maybe I'll have to white knuckle it and do none.

I try moderation, but it doesn't always work. Sometimes I just have to white knuckle and say no. Which is what I will do with all the Easter candy.

After only losing 1 pound in my entire 12th month, I was actually scared that I was going to stop losing. But I guess my body decided to say "LET'S DO THIS".  It must have just needed a break.

Another holiday is upon us, how are you going to handle the food/candy. Personally, I'm an in moderation person. But, I still track every bite and log it. We went to Hershey today and I did awesome. No candy for me.

What are your Easter traditions if you celebrate? We do a huge string hunt on Easter morning.

Let you know my stats Thursday.
