Welcome Kristin
I can't think of any downside to my VSG. It was the best decision I ever made for myself.

You might not want to weigh yourself more than once per day. You will generally weigh more at the end of the day since you have food and fluids in your body.
I weigh myself every morning after I take my morning constitutional and shower.
Some days your body won't lose weight. It's all about the long term changes.
If you use MFP or have a FitBit, try creating a TrendWeight account. It will record your weight loss and provide a moving average for a more realistic view of your progress. I only started using it this year, but I wish I had created an account since my surgery date. It's a great tool.

One pound this week, not shocked bc I lost 5 last week.
Next Goal: 164 (Surgeons Original Goal)
Down another 4 pounds to 317. This is on Optifast products, but eating 1100-1200 calories a day, the doctor is always on me to eat a little more so I keep my glucose levels normal.
My weird slothlike need for sleep last week is gone, and I'm back to a normal 7ish hours a night and feeling fine. Last week it was 9-10 hours and feeling constantly sleepy. My doctor was worried it was related to my low glucose levels. Now I'm wondering if it wasn't just my body deciding that it wanted a lot of sleep. Then again, my glucose levels ARE better this week, so who knows.

Well it has been an interesting week as I had my LBL and hernia repair on 2/29 and weighed in last week at 189 at the hospital.
Doc warned they pump 11lbs if IV fluids in so don't freak out if the scale goes up. Surgery Monday weighed myself Wednesday and only up 4. Been going down steadily which means ai am releasing fluids which is good.

That's a good idea. All I used to wear in jeans was Levis. I haven't bought any since I started losing. I think I will buy myself a goal pair.

Maintaining at my new lower weight pretty easily. Yippee!! I may even try to lose a few more, although my face starts to look too saggy when I get smaller than this.
