Wow 10 lbs! That's awesome. But what's even better is that you were able to stick to your guns even with the pressure and being out of your element. Good for you.

This was a challenging week for me. I was out of province visiting my inlaws on their farm in rural Manitoba. Both my kids and I felt withdrawals from no Wifi!! We had many family food functions which were terribly hard being on Opti. I am very private about my upcoming surgery and have not shared it with any of the in-laws. I told them prior to our visit that I was having my abdominal hernia fixed and needed to be on a liquid diet to shrink my liver prior to surgery. Even with that explanation there was a lot of pressure to eat. I am proud to say I did well and it was reflected on the scale, the first thing I did was weigh myself when we arrived home from the airport this afternoon! It was probable a good thing that they didn't have a scale!

I had a good week. I don't expect the scale to move for a while if my past is any indication. I feel like I am floundering a bit even though I had a good week. Lots going on at work and some huge deadlines approaching. I have to make myself a priority. This is where I have failed so many times.

Thanks , why i consider my dad isnt so obese , ykno medically my dad is super obese , but his body (from my POV) isnt so big like other 330 lbs man although his height only 5'4 ?

i am in the same camp as you and Gwen re moderation. i had a conversation with my husband on the drive home about it. he was talking about some things he over indulged in, and mentioned an ice cream we went for (I had coffee...delicious coffee, but just coffee) . At first I was like, but this is when you should have ice cream. On vacation. I said I'll have one next year. But then I started walking it back, pretty fast hahaha. I was like, well maybe. Probably not. Depends on where I'm at lol.

I do know ice cream was a trigger food for me, I would eat whole pints, and it is my favourite dessert. So I have a feeling it's not something I can have in moderation.

another clue I can't moderate ice cream? That was 5 days ago and I'm still talking about it....

No one can cause someone else to change. The only person who can cause change is himself. Encouragement and love are all you can provide.

It is a hard place to be in, I know. Take care of yourself and encourage him, and the rest will follow.

I follow a ketogenic diet post-op. I also have a diagnosis of binge eating disorder. Feel free to ask me about either!

WOW! Erin, that is freaking awesome! You should be SO proud. People who have surgery at 250 lbs just can't understand how overwhelming it can feel to need to lose 150+ lbs, ya know? But we get it - and you have done such a kickass job. I am so proud of you.

Maintenance is such a ***** so keep on going and get to the weight you want, or even lower if you can :) Just my two cents! Because, like Gwen, moderation is something that I struggle with, so I have good meals and bad meals and just try to weigh daily and make as many good choices as I can. But the further out I am, the more difficult it gets. I really truly wish I could be one of those "I am never hungry!" people but alas, I was not blessed with that feeling.

You are so close to your next goal and you will absolutely reach it. You are rocking this!
