Hey fellow cat-people! I had my RnY 3/15 (53 hours ago!!) and am still pretty sore. I came home from the hospital today and discovered a BIG problem I hadn't even thought about. My two cats "take turns" sleeping on my stomach/chest. I am not going to be able to let them in our bedroom for a while - can you imagine my bouncy Abby landing her four paws strategically positioned on four of my "openings?!" OHHHHHHHH! L Y N N

Hi there! I am 8 weeks out. I know the feeling of cats on the tummy! I have 9 cats, and they were so confused when they couldn't lay on me for a while. For the first couple of weeks, I could only sleep on my back, but I slept with a big pillow on my belly to deter them from sleeping on me. Now that I am healing great and feeling better, they can lay on me again. I am smaller now, and can't fit as many on me anymore though! Sometimes though, I do have an "off" day, and I can't let any of them on me. They seem to understand...it's really weird! Des

I actually stayed in a hotel for the first 2 weeks after my surgery as my family hates cats. When I got home, I crawled into bed and awoke with a 14lb cat on my tummy. Boy did my stomach hurt! I did put a pillow on my tummy to deter her but she just slept on it instead! Margaret

My cats did'nt know what to do as my belly melted away so quick and so did their "perch". lol I'm almost three years out and I still can not stand the pain of a cat on my stomach. It breaks their hearts, and hurts my gut.

HEy Lynn Congrats on your wls surgery. I had the same problem with my cats sleepingon my belly too. For the first week my husband kept tem locked out of the bedroom where I was. They hated it. They would bump against the door and cry all night. Then I put pillows around me and they slept on those. I am now almost 5 onths out and they sleep on me still. I even sleep on my side and they will some how arrange themselves to sleep on my side too! Try having an 18 pounder sleeping on your side and you want to roll over. But I love them all.
