Cat uses bed pan

I have a 11 year old Maine Coon Cat (big cat). When he was young, I toilet trained him. I moved to my new home 3 years ago. I have the litterbox in the laundry/storage room now (the bathroom is too small). About a year ago, I put an old, metal bedpan in the room on the counter. It fell off (kitty playing). I left it for a few days. Then, before I was going to pick it up, I noticed that it had been "used". Aly prefers it to the litter box (I have 2 other cats who use it). I guess his training was good. Aren't cats smart. Aly knew the shape of the bedpan, and knew what it was for.

Barbara,I love those big maine coons. I have never had one, but I worked in a florist shop yeras ago , they had one .He was always lounging on the shelf above my desk, those long legs would be hanging in my way.I think that Aly is really smart, are you going to let him keep the bed pan?Dar

Yes. He doesn't like to share the litter box. So, as long as he enjoys his "idea" of using it, I'm happy (it's either the bed pan, or the floor - which he was doing. He is about 16 lbs. ....BIG cat....and smart. Thanks.

What a cute story. Thanks for the chuckle.
