In reading about Aly, the cool cat who uses a bedpan,I was thinking about a cat that I had when I was in my 20s,Harry ,he would turn on the stereo when I was not home,I would be all freaked out ,In the stairs outside my apartment, hearing the music.I finaly saw him turn it on .He later learned how to turn doorknobs to open doors .I lost him in 1997 to nasty neighbors who antifreezed him.He was a real sweety, I miss him alot .I thought I would brag about him today. Do you have a fury friend that you want to brag about ? I have 13 cats now so I would fill the whole board to brag on them all Dar

Oh my goodness! Someone finally with more cats than me! I have nine. I would love to hear all about your cats! I am sorry about your kitty you lost. I lost one too. But I love the ones I have now soooo much. Want to hear their names??? Well, I am going to tell you anyway!! Ok, theres Cinderella (already named when I got her from the Humane Society), I call her Cindy. Then there's Mischief (Missy), Toby, Jasmine, Molly, Seymour, Gypsy, Bailey and Snickers. I have all different kinds. Long-haired, short-haired, skinny cats chubby cats, white, gray, black and one calico. The only kind I don't have and have never had is an orange cat. I want an orange cat named Pumpkin. But I told myself NO MORE!! I have rescued many cats from abusive homes, and a couple of mine were abused. They drive me crazy sometimes, but I love them so much. You have to understand! I would love to hear about yours! Desirae

Desirae, You are getting up there in #s too.I live in the country, on a crossroads, so people drop off kittys.I guess they see the others and think I want 45 or something.I try to give most of the new ones away, but the ones I can`t find homes for end up in my collection.Alot of people have barns so they will take a couple of cats to kill mice .I love the names of your cats, cinderella. Is she cinder colored? thats a good one.I have, Simon ( grey & white huge cat not fat, just massive) Pookie ( all white, with a couple of orange spots and a orange striped tail ) Black Johnny ( Black& white , he brings home dead moles everyday) White legs, looks just like his brother black johnny except for the legs. Joe( big boy,Has extra toes on all fours, I have to put sun screen on his ears , they are all white , and they get all sunburned and the hair falls out,He got bit by a possum 2 years ago and is alittle mentaly handicapped now.He just sits out in the rain for a couple of hours , getting totaly wet.He wont stay in ,he will spend all day at the door trying to get out.So he is an outdoor cat .Blackie(black, extra toes in front) Mr.Norris named after the cat on harry potter, originaly named Mrs., but later much to my neices dismay its a boy tiger tabby . Fury( black face , mostly white body, pookies sister tiny kitty) porkchop( tiny kitty, tortise shell, like a calico only no white and colors all smeared like) Beeper( all black, nieces named her this because she beeps ,when she talks) Orange creamy ( mostly orange tabby with a white face, the only indoor cat I have , she gets bullied , she is too nice.Begs for lunchmeat if she hears anyone going to the fridge) BooBoo kitty ( calico , hangs on the screens trying to get in the house, when let in ,wants to go right out) Teddy rosenfluff( white & grey tabby, we share her with the neighbors, she ran away, then we found her ,she keeps going back & forth by the month.I also feed a couple of other cats , we call them unoffical cats ,they sneak around and don`t like people. All of my cats are fixed. They are all short haired. I warned you that it would take up space. I have always wanted a brown cat, I have only seen one befor, In a magazine. It was very unique looking.I do not go out and buy, or take cats from anyone, because I always get a pile every spring on the lawn. Thanks for bragging , Dar pre-op, I hope I got them all.

I have five cats. Lily, age 3, was taught by her breeder to give kisses. All you need to do to is stick your hand, finger, or face in front of her mouth & she'll start kissing. It is SO adorable! Jasmine, age 6, is known for being an acrobat. She has about an 8-ft vertical leap from standing position. If she runs, she can get even higher. She like to jump up in doorways just to entice the other cats to play. They usually ignore her. LOL Jasmine also does somersaults sometimes when you pet her. We have one indoor/outdoor cat, Kirby, age 1. He was a stray we started feeding about 7 months ago. He brings us presents every day, no matter how much we feed him. Birds, mice, bunnies, he brings them all into our garage & kills them. The funny thing is that I saw on the Animal Planet that cats who bring you their prey are not really bringing you a present, they are trying to teach you how to hunt for yourself. That cracks me UP! Buddha, age 6, doesn't do anything cool, except allow my 3-year-old niece to torture him all day. He likes the attention. He is the only cat that does not hide when she comes over. He is very mischievous though and has had to have 2 surgeries for bowel obstruction because he likes to eat shoestrings. Tripp, age 4, is just a normal cat who likes to be an escape artist. We rescued him from the Humane Society, and he is front-declawed, so every time he gets out we have to chase him down. He likes to sleep on my pillow every night, just above my head. I also have an awesome dog, a 1-year-old Chocolate Labrador. His name is Fudge. He is SO cute, and SO friendly. The cats hate him. LOL OK, it is obvious I live my furbabies. I don't plan to have kids, so I might just keep adding to my collection!

Christine,I think the kissing cat is really neat.I bet that the vet just loves Buddha! It sounds like they drive you crazy.I didn`t know that about , them trying to teach us to hunt.I have seen momma cats doing that with thier kittens, so it must be true. They must think we are no good at hunting.I have a couple of cats who just steal the gifts and go off and eat them.I am glad to have them removed from the porch. Thanks for sharing , Dar

I also remembered a fun fact about Tripp, my rescued kitty. He likes to stick his entire chin in the water bowl when he drinks, and afterwards always has water dripping from his chin, which he never cleans off, he just lets it air dry. Also, I wanted to see if anyone else out there has a gray swirl tabby? Kirby is a tabby, and the sides of his coat are those big swirls. He is SO cool looking.

Christine, In reading about your cat Tripp. with his chin in the water bowl,I remembered my ex-husbands cat *****y , would put one foot in the bowl while drinking. He would leave a little trail on the rug for a few feet.I miss that cat way more than I could ever miss my ex.Dar

Hi kitty lovers! I just re-read my last post again and I said in it that I rescued some from abusive homes and a couple of mine were abused. Oops! I meant a couple of them were abandoned! In fact I saved an abandoned litter one time. I kept one of them (Toby). He is a huge 25 lb. beautiful long-haired black kitty. His brothers and sisters were all orange. I kick myself in the butt now for not keeping at least one more of them. Toby is such a big love. He likes to be held upside down like a baby so I can rub his belly. But he gets so heavy! Molly and Jasmine don't like to be held, but when I am sitting on the couch they will come right up to my face and head butt me! They are sisters and act so much alike. When I got Molly she was pregnant. The guy I got her from had stopped feeding her because he said she was eating all of the food and not letting his other cat eat. HELLO she was pregnant! And its not like he didn't know, because she had her kittens 2 days after I got her and she was huge! So he put her outside. She was so scared... Anyway, I kept 2 of the babies (she had 5). All of my cats love people, and are so very friendly. I have one, Missy, that used to be really timid. She has just come out of her shell in the past month. She was used to being one of just 2 cats, and was so mad at me when I got all that I do now. But she has really come around. All of my kitties are indoor, I live in a city on a busy road. Missy was in the hospital for 4 days while I was out for my surgery. They said she had gastritis. She was on an IV. She wouldn't eat, and cried when I touched her belly. Well, I saw her throw up a piece of plastic not too long ago, and I think that was really the problem. It was a piece of a WalMart bag (ya know the small pieces that fall off of the bags when you are emptying them?) and it was all hardened and yucky. So I watch the plastic now. She is fine! Thanks for sharing kitty stories! Keep 'em coming please! Desirae

Gosh. I only have 3 babies. I guess I have some catching up to do! I live in an apartment though, so can't have as many as I'd like. Also, with Belle so sick, my heart can't stand the pain when they have to be put to sleep or if they are suffering in any way. Belle is my little girl-baby. She is a real lady. Doesn't get up on the counters or anything like that. She is a beautiful tortiseshell cat. Her nose is black with a little pink pig on it. Her favourite pasttime is to lay on my chest and purr her little heart out. Even now that she is unwell. I adopted Belle from the Humane Society. She had been in the Humane Society for almost six months before I adopted her. I don't know why she was there so long, except that I read somewhere that tortoiseshells and black cats were the least likely to be adopted. A lot of people sure missed a cat with an absolutely beautiful personality. She is a real lap/chest cat. Finnegan is my mischievious boy. He is black with a few white hairs on his chest. He's another Humane rescue. He is very persistent when he wants something. He once wanted to chew on one of my plants and nothing I did would stop him. I even brought out the water spray bottle and spritzed him. All he did was close his eyes and keep on chewing on the plant. I ended up moving the blasted plant. Finny is part Siamese. He is long and lanky and has one BIG voice. Siobhan is my father's cat. (pronounced shiv-VAWN). She's a Manx cat. Born with only a stump of a tail. She's the quietest of the three and is totally dedicated to my father. A true one-person-only cat. Dad is 82, and in reasonably good health. Siobhan sleeps on dad's stomach. Looks really cute to see the two of them and to listen to them both snore. Little Shiv-shiv is 6 lbs and frequently whales the tar out of Finny. Trust me, he deserves it. Cathy.
