Putting Belle to Sleep

Belle's cancer is back. It is inoperable. I'm taking her to the vet tonight and she will be put to sleep. Right now, she is sitting beside my keyboard and purring her little heart out and loving me up. Almost as if she knows and wants to keep on cuddling until the end. I'll miss her so much. Cathy

Had three different professional opinions... all three said the same. Belle had squamous cell carcinoma in her mouth. Inoperable. God, I miss my little girl. She laid down her little head into my hand and breathed her last. That damned cancer won't hurt her now. Cathy.

I am crying with you, Cathy... It must be so hard to lose your baby Belle. Please know that someone out there (me) is thinking of you & praying for you.

I am so sad for you. 5 years ago, my cat lost her cancer battle but her first heavenly act was to send me 2 stray's just 2 weeks after she died. These 2 new babies are the best cats I have ever had (and I have had cats most of my 47 years of life). I know my angel cat was watching and still is watching over all of us!

Cathy, I am so sorry to hear that you had to put Belle to sleep. You did one of the kindest things we as pet owners can do. You ended her suffering and that is the kindest and most thoughtful gift you can give a beloved pet. I'm sure that Belle is in heaven with all kinds of cats having a great time. I know that I personally have three up there and have many friends who have cats up there too. God bless you for ending her suffering. It takes a tremendous amount of strength and courage to do it. Remember the good times. As I posted this evening, I thought my cat had Renal Failure and was lucky that it is diabetes. However if he was going to suffer I was ready to put him to sleep if that would end his suffering. God bless and take care. You did the right thing. ((((((((hugs)))))))) from a fellow cat lover and owner and WLS post-op patient.
