Topic: RE: Question about one of my baby's actions
Hi Dee Dee, Don't get worried -- have you changed something in the environment lately? --even something as simple as a change in the furnishings. Cats are VERY protective of their territory. If you make a change in your schedule --or even put down a new carpet your baby could get upset. And he will want much more attention from his mommy. If you haven't changed anything or made any changes in your schedule--then I would take him to see the vet. Sometimes cats try to tell you that something is wrong --but they rarely show that they are in pain--Has he started purring alot more lately??? Well believe it or not --purring can be a sign that they are in pain. And yes, I am a worry wort--I take my babies to the vet at the drop of a hat. That's what pet insurance is for! You have two young cats--so there is probably nothing more wrong than the fact that your boy would like to sow some wild oats!

I JUST RECEIVED A TELEPHONE CALL TO ALERT ME TO THE DANGER OF USING A SWIFFER MOP!!! I just learned that the chemicals used in the swiffer mop cleaner contain the same ingredients that are in anti-freeze! ***Poisonous to cats and dogs! *** Kitty may walk on the wet floor and then lick his or her paws It can make her sick or ever kill kitty! Keep the stuff as far away from kitty as possible-- Your babies are in DANGER!!!!! Ijust threw mine away!!! Tell your friends!!

Topic: RE: Looking for a burmese
Hi, I think that you might try going on line to http://www.petfinder.org/ Last year I searched for a kitten and I found the most wonderful Maine coon kitten. She was a rescue kitten ( they were going to euthanize her) You can specify the breed of kitten that you are searching for, the age and the gender. My son found two beautiful kittens too. The cost of the adoption (In New York ) is approximately $175.00 for the cost of transporting the kitten or the cat. If it is in your area --it may cost less. My kitten came from Tenn. Also yhere are many animals that need rescuing from the SPCA--Katrina victims. Try it you may fall in love with a kitty.

Topic: RE: Male cats in the house
Did you get the cat to breed? Is that why you didn't have him fixed in the first place? You'd have a spraying problem with any male cat that wasn't fixed.I never really thought of that...how do breeders deal with that issue? Good question, though me, personally, I would never have a male cat that wasn't fixed. That smell just doesn't go away. I have 2 fixed male cats and one fixed female all of which are indoor cats.If you are going to get him fixed don't wait too long, it's harder on the cat and if he's been spraying for a while there's a possibility he may not stop after being fixed.Sorry I couldn't be of more help.Best of Luck! Lisa

Topic: Looking for a burmese
I'm looking for a female burmese somewhere around the Tallahassee, FL area. It's ok if she's not full blooded. I just love their personalities.

Topic: RE: Cucumber thief
Lisa, haven't seen you in awhile. I just happened to see your post here. You changed your profile name, but I knew you anyway!! Hope all is well with you. I am 5 mos. post op tomorrow and have lost 80 lbs since surgery, and 120 since my first consult in January. I am loving every little change. My belly is still huge, but I do see changes, such as no seat belt extender, etc. Loved the story about the cucumber thief. I am absolutely crazy about cats and think everything they do is cute and/or funny. We have 4 of them and unfortunately one of the babies has pneumonia right now. It is so hard to see them suffer!! Hugs girl! Vicki

Topic: RE: Anyone else experience this?
I have a Russian Blue with a mostly bald spot on her back between her hips - it is bald because she licks there constantly - the vet gave me something to put on it to keep her from licking but it smelled horrible and my other kitty would then beat her up because she smelled bad. Anyway long story short mine was bald because she licked it alot....
