Topic: RE: PREVENT A LITTER SPAY OR NEUTER YOUR CRITTERS
Great Advice. I am also owned by 5 neutered male cats and 1 spayed female cat. Love them to death. All were shelter cats and I totally agree with you. I hugged all my boys and my girl this morning prior to leaving for work..lol
June is "ADOPT A SHELTER CAT" month!

Here is a technique I saw on animal planet. Rub each of you pets with a clean towel. Rub them very thoroughly so that their scent is really heavy on the towel. Then take that towel and use it like a placemat under the other pets food dish. This not only gets them used to each others scent but they learn to associate the scent with something positive, FOOD! Good luck and let us know if it works.
Topic: RE: got 2 kittens from the pound and have problem!
i am new to the board.. first i'd like to say hi and that im sorry also that you are having trouble with the kittens. I guess Im a lil concern becuz you want to "trade" them in for new ones. They are actually living beings and probably just need a little time and care. I rescued 3 feral kittens and had to keep them quaranteened for a few weeks but persistancy helped them to grow in to beautiful cats who adore my whole family. I now have 7 cats and 2 dogs and my feral kittens have fulfilled my life a whole lot. I do understand your concern but maybe you can just keep them away from the baby for now and try to be patient. they have already been dumped off once...

Topic: Baby's Allergic to my kitties
Hi everyone, I have 2 cats, one male Bengal, purebread about 4 years old and one female muted torti about 2 years old. We found out that my daughter is allergic to cats and we have to keep them in the basement in the laundry room... it's pretty big in there, but I feel bad to leave them locked up in there... I've been trying to find someone that will take them but no luck. I dont want to give them to a pound because I think it's cruel to keep them locked up in a cage. They are both "fixed" and cant be seperated. Anyone have any idea what I can do? I feel so bad for them, they are used to having the run of the house and they are starting to look depressed.... Any ideas? If anyone wants them I will be glad to drop them off or email pics... HELP!

Topic: RE: CURIOUS!
Just have to note that one of my three cats is a lap kitty and she was determined to get on my lap after my surgery. I just kept my hand over the places that needed protecting, (I had Lap RNY, so there wasn't that much toprotect) and although she was frustrated, she made the best of it for a few days and then we were back to normal. She sometimes likes to sleep on my hip at night, too, but that wasn't really a problem after surgery (of course, she only weighs 9 lbs.)

That's so funny--only a cat could come up with something so quirky!! You gotta laugh!
Topic: RE: Looking for a himalayan
That was good advice. We found our precious Himalayan, Bleubelle, on Petfinder. She was a shelter cat and the most beautiful blue point we had ever seen. She is the sweetest little "fur-baby." Good luck!!
Topic: RE: PLEASE HELP!!!!
Believe it or not he has almost stopped. The only time he really wants to (PLAY) is first thing in the morning. So now I play with him with this little bell and some line with feathers. He loves it. Does anybodys cat follow them around the house? My cat won't leave my side, no matter where I go he's there, even the bathroom. It's kind of cool he's like a dog.

My cat used to do that too until I got him a 2nd litter box. Now he does #1 in one and #2 in the other. A strange personality quirk but they are strange critters to begin with. Good luck!
