Topic: RE: why don't they show a national cat show on tv like the dog shows?
I would LOVE watching a cat show. They used to have one each year in November in St. Petersburg FL and I always missed it due to work. When I became disabled, I had to leave Florida (I lived in Tampa) and I have regretted that I never made it to the cat show. I'm hoping, if I ever get to have WLS, that I can someday return to Florida and if I do, I am going to that show!

Just wanted to say my cat was 16 pounds and I was afraid of him jumping on me at night like he always does. Funny thing, when I came home from the hospital he knew something was different. I wouldn't let him hop on my tummy and the entire first night home he stayed right by my side on the couch (I was sleeping sitting up) "protecting" me. Cats know something is going on!

Congratulations on your surgery. Min is May 20th and I have 3 kitties who bum all the time. Also when their eyes are partly closed and they are near you that signified extreme pleasure!! I have two calicos - one is a toroise shell, the othere has lots of white in it. They are mutuants and usually very mean as a breed but I've worked with them for 10 years and now they are cuddly. Make sure you join the Lap band Forum here and also the May surgery date forum. They are GREAT people and will root you on!! Barb in CA

Hi, Yes, bumping you with their heads shows affection. It also "marks" you as theirs. They have scent glands, which rubs off on you. Another form of affection & marking is when they rub against your legs. Cats are sooo cool. They all have such individual purrsonalities. I have 3 wonderful kitties and they are all different. Lisa

I am so sorry. :') I had to euthanize my cat Simba due to kidney failure back in 1995 and I still miss him. My heart goes out to you. He was a beautiful cat. Lisa

Hi! Cat Lovers, I'm new to this board. My kittie will be 11 years old in June. I've only had him a year. He is really wonderful, I couldn't love him more. Bitzi, is in for a rude awakening because Monday May 9th I'm have the Adjustable Gastric Bypass. When I read in bed he likes to sleep on my hip. He weighs 17 pounds. He was that big when I got him. He doesn't eat much. He eats 1 1/2 cups of food every two days. What I'm curious about is when a cat gives you bumps does that mean they're showing affection? I just love this site, INA

He was our fur baby for 12 years. He passed away yesterday from kidney failure, we miss him terribly. I put a photo of him on my profile if you'd like to see a photo of our beautiful boy in better days.
