Laughed my petunia's off, still am hours later like Vicki! I absolutely love idiotic sites like that (no offense) that make me laugh. I love the unusual in life. Serious and funny.

Try a piece of poster board covered with double sided sticky tape. Carpet tape works well. They jump up, get stuck and are very bothered by this. It worked for me to keep my two "fur kids" off the counters. They never get up there any more took about a week.

My big boy likes to dig to China!
We got him a jumbo covered cat box. I also have a litter mat in front of the box.

I had the same issue with my new brown leather sectional. The half under the window that they jump up and down on looks like someone took a fork to it! Oh well. Was livid at first. What to do when you have furbabies? Im just cannot declaw them. They dont scratch at it. They use their post for that. Just from jumping on and off. I too hope that eventually, it will add a "distressed look!"

I hope it works for you. I know we have used that treatment on the trash and the neighborhood dogs leave it alone now. It only takes once. Good luck...

Thanks, Lori, I'm going to try that. Thanks for taking the time to respond.

Topic: RE: Probably going to be kittening out a feral mom this week- any advice?
The mama kitty will instinctively know what to do. Just have a box ready for her and when she goes into labor she'll start howling and purring. As each kitten is born she'll clean them and then they should start nursing right away. The last one I assisted we were in my bathroom and I had her litter box in there too. She felt safe even though she was a wild kitty from the neighborhood. Just be there...good luck

This may just work. Put a little dish on the table with some cayene pepper in it.
They will get a sniff of it and won't return.....
Our cats seem to prowl my kitchen when I'm not looking. I've tried the squirt bottle to no avail....they just think that's fun.
Hope this helps

Hi Elle,
My cats aren't allowed to go outside, I'm an overprotective mom, so I can't help you with the bird problem.
But I had the same problem with the litter box, and I ended up going to Wal-Mart and getting a HUGE plastic tub---I mean like 50 gallon or something. I have 4 cats. Anyway, it's so big and tall that they don't kick it out. Or you might try a covered box.
Good luck.

Thanks, Elle. I'm afraid I'll have to cover it with something, too. Was just hoping I could show it off, the wood is so pretty.
Maybe the scratches will just make it look 'distressed'---LOL
The cats know who is in charge of this household---them!
Hugs,
Connie
