I can't stand to kill them, but no problem with most bugs. It's a challenge to win over the cats.

Congrats on the victory! You are too funny about not killing the mouse. My daughter won't even kill a bug....she escorts them outside. LOL

Hi Michelle... I have a diabetic kitty as well, but let me tell ya..it gets better! I moved to a new house 3 years ago and my 8 yr old Tigger passed from congestive heart failure. His 9 yr old brother Caesar took it really bad (so did I, I gained alot of weight!) Anyway, 4 mos later I got a new baby kitty, Logan, and he had ringworm and passed it on to Caesar who should have been able to fight it, but when he didn't, we discovered he was diabetic. He gets 3 units of Humulin insulin 2x a day, and now he acts just like a kitten again! He just turned 12 and you'd never know he has anything wrong with him! He even reminds me if I'm too slow to give him his shot!. As far as the hissing thing...it happens every time I take one out of the house for more than an hour or so, bath or no bath! The last time they needed check-ups, I took them together and they were fine! It was alot to handle, but worth it in the long run. And don't worry, ALL my clothes are furry!

In the late night/early morning of playing mouse catcher. Harley and Shait did a great job of flushing the little guy out, and I caught him before too much harm was done and let him out the door. (I just can't kill them) But before I woke up I was dreaming about him jumping up and down in defiance of being caught. He was found the night before under the fridge. This is only the second time in their lives the cats have encountered live little critters. My apartment is on the first floor, and of course, it's getting cold out so they are seeking warmth. I have no clue where he came from. There is no sound coming from the walls.

There is a a web site called http://www.felinediabetes.com/ You can get help on the message board faster than you can on the main board here. The people there are very friendly and helpful, they live with feiline diabetes 24/7. Most test there cats blood sugar, I did. The board is full of animal lovers. They have a ton of knowledge on there site. I hope you go there and check it out and find some help there. Good Luck. Molly

Topic: RE: I have to share my weird cat story.
Well I have several probably because I have always had at least one cat. I'll tell you two silly ones. When I was 18 I had a cat I named Count W.T. Barnette Mon Cherri, the W.T. stood for wild thing . I called him Barnette, and he liked to go for rides. When I was going to work he left me alone but if I was going out he had to come. Not to bad but he had to sit on my lap and put his front paws on the steering wheel. I ran three police officers off the road because all they could see was his huge head. The second one I'll tell you I know you won't believe, but I know and so do 36 girls at the sleep-over know it is true. Atar was his name and we were telling ghost stories at the party. I told the girls they had to be real. Atar is going up the stairs and then coming out of the family room and going back up the stairs. I knew what he was doing and he kept it up until one of the girls screamed "That cat just keeps going up the stairs and never comes down" I told her we had to tell real ghost stories and he was just helping. There was no other way down then the stairs we were sitting at. Go figure, Stes

I have a friend whose cats got into an open box of Altoids mints. They then went nuts all around the house - she now refers to it as "Kitty Crack". Any lying around your house?

You, know. I agree with you too. I adopted a semi feral 6 month old kitten. He was impossible to keep in the house. He snuck out while I was camping, and wound up biting a neighbor. I wound up having to bail his butt out of jail, and having to keep him in quarentine for a week, since he was late with his rabies shot. Of course I will take responsiblity for damage my cat does. I also found another way to keep him in the yard, and I recommend it highly! We had an Invisible Fence installed. He is the only one of our four cats that needs the collar that goes with it. The rest stay safely in our yard. Now he does too!

Smokey and Sister treat me the same way. My DH tells them all the time that we own them, they don't own us. Yeah right! Shanon
