Topic: I love my kitties!
Hello, my name is Tonya Hammer and I'm writing under my hubbys name. I just decided to look through the obesity help site and I saw this thing about cats. We have 6 adults and 11 babies under 5 months. They can be a real challenge sometimes, but they are worth every moment! I too have problems with depression and they are my God send! By the way I would like to have the surgery like my husband because it changed his life dramatically. His surgery was July 16, 2002 and he has lost over 250 lbs. Now back to my kitties! It seems as though the more critters we get the more love we have to give! We have 4 five month olds that have to sleep right on my body every night I wake up sufficating by kitty fur. I hug & kiss each and every one of them and tell them they are my gift from God! We just moved into my parents house and are living down in the basement and the kitties think if we come upstairs that where they belong. They are sooooooo bad! I have never seen such mischevious kittens in my whole life! Well I will close by saying hope everything is going well for all of you as far as surgery goes and if you have not had it yet Good Luck!

Topic: Kitty Fluff owns me and the other cats!
I have made my final decision to have surgery just today. My PCP is 100% supportive and we anticipate no problems with SSI Medicaid. I'll have surgery at the U of W and am filling out the paperwork to submit on Monday! I'm excited and a little scared, too. Now, back to kitties. I love 'em to pieces. They are the best 4-legged fuzzies a person could have! LOL I've done a bit of kitty rescue, but, had to quit as it was quite demanding. Kitty Fluff is about 2 years old and is black and fluffy. Her baby, Fanny, is about 14 weeks ago. I have another, Mitten, who adopted me about 3 years ago, she's a white and gray tabby. My kitties are my family in addition to my daughter Amy who tries to get home by bus to visit every couple of weeks or so. She is an environmental activist and I am so proud of her! I wish everyone a GREAT day! Becky

Hi Brenda, I read your letter about your babies. I am so sorry for your loss of your 2nd cat. WE just went thru losing our Dear C.J. this pass Feb 14th. We had him for 12 yrs. We are to lost with out him and he lives on in our heart and thoughts. We now have 4 cats that we must take care of as this is what C.J. would have wanted us to do as he grew up with them. There is max who is 11 yrs old and Tiger who is 10 yrs old and Littlefoot who is 2 yrs old and Princess is 1 1/2 yrs old. They each have their own personalities and bring much love and joy to our lives. They do some funny things which we laugh at and we take pictures to remember some of these things. They are my babies. I love them dearly. I hope you receive as much love and enjoyment from the two you now have. Would love to hear from you if you would like to write me. Take care and God Bless you and yours. Love JoAnn

Topic: RE: I LOVE my cats!
Hello Grace, I love your name as it was my Grandmother's name and I dearly loved her. If we have a child and it is a girl we will name her Grace. I am a cat lover and enjoy thier company so much. My cats names are Max, Tiger, Little foot and princess. Max is about 12 yrs old and is charcoal gray. Tiger is Tabby color and is about 11 yrs old. Littlefoot is 2 yrs old and she is smokey gray and white, Princess is 1 1/2 yrs old and she is black and white. Max and Tiger are pretty mellow, but tiger has a whining he does like he is wanting attention or he is alone in a room. But I call him and he comes to me usually and he loves to crawl up beside me and sleep. Max is pretty mellow also, but can let you know he doesn't want to be bothered, especially if my 3 yr old niece comes over to visit or spend the night. He allows her to pet him for awhile then he kinda looks at her and she says max looks like he is going to hiss at me. I better leave him alone and off he goes to the bedroom. Max loves to jump up on the bed in the middle of the night and take his paw toward my face telling me he wants to crawl under the covers with me and go to sleep. He sleeps by my feet or my side. Littlefoot came to us throuh a friend who had to go to war with the 9/11 things. He was unable to take care of the cat so he asked if we could please take her and raise her. She was 8 weeks old when we got her. Littlefoot has really started to follow us around and want more of our attention and love. She was miss independant for awhile. But recently we had her spaded and I think that made her do what she is doing. Now as for Princess we got her from a friend whose cat had babies and she was 7 weeks old. She was so adorable and loved to crawl up under my chin and sleep. She wanted more of my attention when she was younger. We also just had her spaded and she took on an attitude with us. She allows us to pet her for a little while, but then she gets that look in her eyes as if you better go away now, I need my space. She loves to sit in the spot I sit on the sofa and the computer chair. She also likes to lay on my side of the bed when I am not there. But if we go to move her she has that attitude and she hisses and kinda nips at us. We have to correct her. I hope she gets out of this attitude. I like her the way she was. Maybe she is mad at me for having her spaded and this is her way of getting back at me. Oh yes Max was adopted when he was 8 weeks from a lady in Maryland where we use to live as she wa going into the hospital and would not be able to take care of him. Tiger was a runt of a litter where a woman had been taking care of the stray cat as she was Pregnant with kittens. We adoted him from her when he was 8 weeks old. Now we also had a cat named C.J. We adopted him from the Humane Society 13 yrs ago on Feb 14th. C.J. was a unique and loving cat he was my little man who followed me,around all the time and he would sit on my lap and curl up and sleep. he would sleep on top of my pillow with me. he loved ice cream and would not let me eat some in peace. But on FEb 14 2003 C.J. Passed away as he was ill. I was so heart broken as well as my husband. C.J. was a great cat to us and we love and miss him a lot. As for you hoping that your cats went to Heaven . I can assure you that they did and they will be there waiting for us when we leave this world to go back to that God who made us. The heavens are so beautiful with flowers, trees bushes etc and there are the animals walking among them with our loved ones who has passed on before us. I know this as a friend of mine had a near experience death and she mentioned these things she saw. I believe in them as I am a Latter Day Saint commonly known as a Mormon. Just keep good memeories of the ones who have passed on and enjoy the ones we have now. If it wasn't for mine I too feel I would be in a deep depression. When I have been sick they have been right there to comfort me. They are my children. Glad to be able to write to you grace . Feel free to write to me also. Topic: My babies
I was so happy to see a place where I could tell the world how much I love my "babies". We lost our 2nd cat two weeks before this past Christmas. We had him for 17 years. It was a terrible lost. We literally couldn't stand our house without him. My husband wasn't eating and I was crying all the time. We had to do something. We adopted two kittens who are brother and sister. It took two kittens because there was such huge paw prints for them to fill. They didn't replace him. They helped us adjust to our loss. The babies names are Boo (after the girl in Monster's Inc. movie) and Cotey. My daughter named him. They are the light of our life. We wait each day to see what episode will be on today of the Boo and Cotey Show. Their theme song is Wild Thing. They are so spoiled. They have to be held to go to sleep. Don't know how they would get used to something like that. As any cat owner knows--we adopted them only because they choose us. Life is only bearable with cats in it.

I love my two cats, Tuesday & Mittens! They are 10 years old. I miss my other cats & hope they are in Heaven: SomPhong, Smokey, Bandit, Sheeba, & Little Gray Kitty (she was deaf). Having cats has helped me with my depression over the years. I wouldn't trade them for anything! I also hope my best friend's cat, Misty, is in Heaven. She was lost in a fire.

Just wanted to say hello to all the cat lovers, and take this opportunity to declare some "lovin's" for my cats: Mama Kitty, Scooter, Bruiser, Bob, Buddy, and Junior! Also, I have a daughter named Jade (11-months), whom I love with all my heart and soul. She is my first born (human). But my real "first born" was and will always be my beloved cat, Precious. Rest in peace with God and all your pals in Heaven, my Precious angel (10/92 - 11/01): Axel, Casper, Frankie, and Tiger. Mommy will love you forever and always.
