Topic: RE: MY CAT IS SICK...help!
I'm sorry to hear about your baby... The eye may be either conjunctivitis or a respiratory infection. Both are relatively easy to treat, but if your vet ruled those out already, you may want to try to do an internet search on veterinary specialists in your area and see if any of them have a website where you can ask questions in a messageboard-type environment. I don't know about the lump and the spleen. I know vet bills are tough, but if you can't find anything on the internet, I would maybe ask your regular vet if there might be a specialist they could recommend. Take him there as soon as you can, and be sure to ask if he is in pain or if his quality of life is being negatively affected. If not, I wouldn't worry too much since he is pretty old. Anyway, I hope you will both be OK!! Keep us posted on his condition?

Topic: MY CAT IS SICK...help!
I've never posted here before, but i have a dilemma. My cat is 13 years old and he seems to be normal, eating very well, but is just a little tired. I found a small lump on the left side of his neck and his right eye is irritated with a little discharge (i rinse it with some solution)/ I took him to my vet at VCA and after $500 they still dont know what is wrong with him! They ruled out cancer, but they said his splene felt a little large. They also said he has alot of tartar build-up on his back teeth. I just don't know what to do! Can anyone please give me some suggestions???? Thank you, RUBINA

Topic: RE: Ragdolls
I have a very outgoing stud from them. Lisa and bill Ames. I breed Ragdolls here in Oklahoma. and yes they are very very addictive. Langston, my boy is a gorigous blue lynx color point and just earned his champion title. He's so affectionate, but a little too smart for his own good. When he's not flirting with his girls, he'll climb into my lap to suckle on my ear lobes. It's so funny, some of his kittens do the same things to their new owners. My queen of the house is a seal mitted lady who is about as regal as they come. Her parentes were ranked first and second in their region. LOL, the prettier the fabric, the more likely you'll find my Cheyenne on top of it. Then we have beautiful and flirty Savanna. A seal bi-color lady. I swear, the only thing she likes more than the 'boys' are baby kittens she can mother. (which is funny since she's never had any) Ragdolls are certainly a breed unto themselves.

Topic: RE: I think my cats need a shrink
I'll bet if you just give them time they will work it out. Pumpkin has probably started playing a little rough or something. And... of course, they choose the middle of the night to romp!!! I have three. TWo of them have a love hate relationship. One day they are curled up together and the next day they are hissing and slapping.

Topic: I think my cats need a shrink
All of a sudden they have started hissing at each other. It is really scary especially at night. I do not know what has changed other that Pumpkin(younger) becoming a little sturdy guy. He and Sugar usually get along so well. Sugar is a cream puff of a cat and is usually calm and sleeping. Any suggestions??? judi

I contacted an organization called C-Snip. i don't know if it is just for Michigan or nationwide, but you could probably find it online with a search engine

Topic: RE: Prayer Request
Deborah, I recently had to put my beloved Trooper kitty to sleep also for the very same reasons. I had found him skinny and covered with fleas at about 5 weeks of age. He still had his blue eyes. After we took him in, he fattened up into a very beautiful 16 pound tom cat. We loved him and he loved us for 14 wonderful years. Unfortunately, the equivalent of kitty senility took over causing him to pee and poop in places he would never have done before. After many months of cleaning up after him, on the carpet, wood floors, throw rugs, next to the litter box, we had no choice. He was miserable because he could not help himsellf. I was devastated when I had to make the decision. My beloved is now in kitty heaven and will be waiting for a good petting when I see him again. Sometimes, these things just happen to cats and as their caretakers, it is our job to make the tough choices. He was not happy making his messes and I could tell he was humiliated whenever he did one. Only God will ever understand the mind of a cat, but in exchange, we get to love them and they love us in return while they are here on earth. Good luck with your decision. I am sorry I can not give you any insight on how to change her behavior. Sometimes it is just the way of nature. Laurie
