I also have a cat who is allergic to seafood. She doesn't have asthma attacks, but throws up terribly on many foods, especially seafood. The vet has her on a prescription food made from green peas and rabbits. He tried her on green pea and duck and that was a problem, too. It comes in dry and canned, but the canned makes her sick. The dry works well though. I have 3 other cats and they all eat it because of her. No one seems to mind. She is able to eat 1 teaspoon of Friskies canned for dinner, if it is seafood free. She loves this special treat. Good luck with your little one!

hello
I have two cats. Sebastien and Olivia, he's a tom and she calico. She is my probelm child-poops in the tub, won't drink from her water bowl, oh yeah she allergic to seafood. People laugh at work when I tell the last one but I find no humor nor any food for my little girl. If I give her seafood she has some of the scariest asmatha attacks for animal or human I've ever seen.
I have found some wet food for her but there's this one dry I can't find anywhere...it's friskiees poultry deluxe has any on see it ? They share common food area so what I give her I have to give him also. Any body seen this product in a big bag?
thanks

Topic: RE: HELP ME PLEASE!!!!!
Jan,
I do have a spray bottle of water and it really doesn't seem to bother him.LOL I'm telling you he's a spoiled BRAT!!!.I tell him NO very loudly and he'll stop but then start again as soon as I'm sleeping. Or check this out, he'll stand on my leggs when I'm sleeping and cry till I open my leggs. He loves to sleep between my leggs. (Wish hubby didLOLOL). When he was a little kitten he would sleep under my chin but as he got older he started to smother me cause he's so fat and very, very furry!! Very long hair. He has food at all times except in the morning he'll get a small can of Fancy feast and around 5:00pm same thing but there's always Kitten Chow and clean water. Honest to God he's worst than when my kids when they were little. SPOILED ROTTEN!!!!!
Cheri
P.S. My Smokey also likes to wrap himself around my head but he's so furry I can'tT STAND IT AND HE WEIGHS ALMOST 18LBS. HE'S HUGE!! THE DOC SAID HE'LL BE AROUND 20 TO 22LBS. AS AN ADULT!!

Topic: RE: HELP ME PLEASE!!!!!
Cheri,
first, remember he's still a baby! in general, cats don't reach physical maturity until they are about 18 months old. He might be hungry, so giving him a little extra food at night is probably okay.
second, you can try behaviour modification. i've used this with all my cats and it's worked on all of them except one. You can use a spray bottle with water, or if you're worried about getting things, and the kitten, wet, go to a computer store and get a can of compressed air. When kitty knocks something over, tell him, very loudly, NO, and then shoot some air or water at him. Just one good squirt. Do this each time he knocks something over. pretty soon, he'll stop knocking things over. oh, he'll also have a very strong aversion to the spray bottle or can of compressed air.
i personally couldn't lock either of my guys up. they have free roam of my house and sleep with me at night, one next to me, the other on top of my pillow wrapped around my head like a big fur hat.
enjoy your guy while he's young! they grow up too fast.

Topic: RE: Litter Box Issues!!
Meredith,
How did you get my cat?? Is she sneaking over to your house?? I have the same exact problem, except she poops in the box, and pees on the floor, but backs up against the back of the box and the walls to pee on the floor. I have had her 11 years, and I raised her from a kitten. I bought another box, and by the way, I have 2 other cats, one is her brother, her litter mate and the other cat is my old man of 14 yrs. She is a pain in the neck, but here is what I found out.
She is fine medically, no kidney infection, which ticks me off every time the vet wants to check that as its never been the case, we put her on anxiety medication and that was a pain. She would foam at the mouth trying to get it down her throat. It is a behavioural problem, and its marking the territory. She is intimidated by the other cats, even though she has lived with them forever. The vet is like no help, she says, sorry, can't help you. I went to one website that has helped me somewhat, I ordered some stuff from there, and its my last hope.
Planeturine.com I hope it will work for both of us if you use it. I also got one of those things that is supposed to keep her from certain areas if you plug it in.
Let me know how it goes, as my kittie is on her last leg.
Take care,
God Bless,
Deb =".."=

Hi,
I have a female maine coon--and she is very playful--She has a habit of pushing things off the dresser --night tables etc., I couldn't possibly lock her in the bathroom--I couldn't sleep knowing that she was locked up---The idea of waiting to feed you kitty late --sounds good--and as for the knocking things down--I took anything breakable and put them away--then spent four or five nights pretending to continue to sleep--when she didn't get a reaction--she finally stopped ! Now she comes to the bedroom--but she just curls up between mommy and daddy and waits until we get up!
Be Blessed,

Hi Celi!
You know, I believe that cats sense when their human owners don't feel good. They can be 'loving & supportive' when we feel lousey. I've had that happen to me!
Celi, cats spend a lot of the day sleeping, and love to play at night! That's just the way they are when they're kitties. I don't know why that is.
And oh yes, you CAN spoil a pet!!
We had to put our Mittens to sleep 3 weeks ago.
So we only have one cat now. She was very sick. 12 years old.
Good luck with that adorable kitty! =^..^=
Hugs, Grace

Last weekend I was sick and I was in my bed most of the weekend, well Sunday evening he jumped on my bed went inside my sheets and curled up there all night long, he didn't even eat or do anything at all(he usually plays all night long)I think he knew I wasn't feeling good, so there is my story just by doing that he melted my heart, he is getting sleepy, hey Grace how come he sleeps all day long and stays up all night long is that normal?????I mean he is not a little kitten anymore.....
