Believe me, once you begin to eat regular foods you'll begin to feel it in your pouch.  Remember to take advantage of the first couple of months in losing weight.  Good luck!

Hey! I think I am doing ok but just having problems with my protein intake, eating and water. I am 3 weeks out and I was told to try stage 4 which I call trial and error! I don't feel like I had surgery at all and it doesn't help that I am over 2200 miles away from home so I really haven't had time to heal and get everything in order. Thanks for checking up on me!

i've had the scope done for exploratory surgery. They way my surgeon ordered it, it wasn't to bad!! I was put under a light anesthetic, and took me 24hrs to get back up to my regular routines!!!

I must know 100 of them, but they're not here. The problem was SBO, or small bowel obstruction. There are now a lot of studies out there showing the 3 or 4 main types we can get. In other words, test toward "these".

Go here and ask the question. Most of us are many years out.

Many have had SBO, so have had exploratory surgeries. That was before the cause of SBO was so widely reported.

Hopefully, they are still tuned in.

Hey how are you doing post op?  I had Zorn.  He did a pretty good job on me.  I've lost over 250lbs but I've had complications.  I'm better now but boy, 2007 sucked for me! Read my story!

So sorry you're having to deal with this.  I too have had severe abdominal pain and have gone to ER a whole bunch of times and they can't find anything wrong.

I used to have the pain constantly....almost everytime I ate.  It's so much better now.  The last time I had an episode was like 5 months ago...Thank Goodness!

Good luck and make sure you quickly get insurance so that you're cared for.....

The pain isn't as bad today, but it isn't reaching around to my back anymore.  I ate only vanilla pudding, cottage cheese, cream of wheat, and water yesterday to give my pouch a rest.  The good thing is I have an appt. scheduled with my doc on Thursday and I just had my blood work, so if there is a problem I can get it taken care of soon.

Has the pain moved today?

Crystal Light/Citric acid is good, generally, but of course, it doesn't replace naked water.

What I was looking for was kidney stones. Mine were much like yours in that I had minor pain for 3 days before I realized it was getting worse and took myself to a doc.

They took the fobi ring off of me November 2007 from the first onset of eating issues. I felt good one day and then down hill since then. But I would like to know if anybody else has had explatory surgery and what the outcome was.

I can't eat nuts/seeds due to diverticuler disease.  Am not getting much dark leafy greens or grains.  One cup of decaf tea/coffee in the am.  No soda.  But I do drink a ton of crystal light.
Is there something to flavor water with that isn't full of citric acid?
