Topic: RE: I JUST GOT A "PAPPY-POO"
Hi Paula --
Yappy? Oh, yes. I think they should call this mix a "YAPPY-Poo"!! Silly me, I picked him partially because while all the other dogs were going crazy, he was quiet and calm. Ha!
He does not seem to be shedding, which is nice. And his hair/fur does not seem to tangle no matter what -- maybe as he gets older that will change.
How do I post a picture of him on here. I haven't even put one up of me yet.
Regards,
Marla (and Henry!)

Hello everyone,
I am new to the boards, but have been a lurker for a long time. I just had to share my feelings on my little Jupie girl. She is a Poo-Pom. Half poodle & half Pomerian(?) I love her sooooo much. She is my Angel
I have had her a little over 2 years, & it has been GLORIOUS!! I know some people thinks I am crazy, but she has been my best friend these 2 years. She also is loved by my family almost as much as I love her.
Thanks for listening,
Sara.

Well, you are welcome, except that wasn't me *****plied. With a 5 month old pup, he should be able to hold it for up to 5 hours. I wouldn't make a big deal about leaving the pup when you go leave. That would be more likely to cause the crying.
This is what I would recommend. When the pup is not in the crate, you keep it on a house line attached to you. (light leash) When the pup starts to circle or sniff the floor, take it out, stand there and say your potty cue (hurry up, go potty, etc). Once they urinate, praise and take for a little run around the yard, then let them have a bit of time to defecate as well. Since you have the pup on a regular schedule for feeding, you should be able to time the poop times!
Don't expect the pup to be perfect right away. But after a few weeks of practice, it should be much, much better. Remember, if the dog has an accident in the house, it is because you didn't get it out in time. Not because the dog was being malicious or trying to get back at you for leaving it.
Potty training 101!

Hi Marla,
Hooray on the arrival of your new puppy!!!!
I have 2 papillons..they are a great breed of dog...can be a bit yappy (i.e. "yappy pappy" syndrome..lol) but they are great companions.
Congrats on your new pup.....I've never seen a poodle-papillon mix...bet that is pretty cute though!!
Is there little or no shedding?
Paps don't shed all that much....but I brush my guys every other day.
don't be turned off by those folks that look down on mixed breed dogs...I'm just glad you are sharing your life with a great little companion.
can you post a pic of your new "addition"?
cheers!
Paula

Topic: Free pit bull puppies
Hi, all! Taking this opportunity to announce that my sister's dog had 9 puppies. The mother and father both are pure bred pit bulls, one doesn't have papers though. They are giving the puppies away. I know pit bulls have a bad rap, but personally, I think it all depends on their upbringing. I know several that are quite sweet, including these parents. And heck, I got bit in the face by a black lab when I was 8 years old, so you never know.
Anyway, off my soapbox...The puppies are about 6 weeks old now. They are currently in Weatherford, Oklahoma, but will be visiting in Smith Center, Kansas, on Sept. 24th weekend. If you are interested, let me know and I will get you in touch with my sister. Actually, if you are anywhere in between those two places, you could probably get one delivered to you as they are coming through Kansas on that weekend.
She is supposed to be sending me pictures tomorrow. So if you're interested, let me know.
Hope you all have a good evening!

Topic: RE: shih tzu's??????
Hey Sunshine,
Thanks for replying. I am totally in love with my baby. She is like my third kid. She did fine on her surgery. I had to call the vet today though. She has a hard knot that has come up under her incision. It doesn't seem like it bothers her but I am not sure what it is. I have to take her back in on monday. Boy, she milked it for everything she could get. I had to go back to the vet after her surger and get her some pain meds. She is back to her normal self now. They are very loveable dogs. She does not meet a stranger. She hates being alone. Well enough about her. You asked about my experience with the wls. I had lap RNY on April 18th. I have lost 90 lbs so far. I am just in awe over the results. I did not have any complications at all. I had seven incisions cause they had to take my gall bladder out also. I started out at 275 and now I am weighing in at 185. It has almost been 5 months. This is the best thing I have ever done for myself. My insurance would not pay for it. It was excluded on my policy so I ended up paying cash for it. I found out that Hibernia would finance a medical loan. So that is what I did. I am paying a little over 400.00 a month for this and it has put a financial strain on us but I would do it again in a heart beat. If you have any questions or just need to talk. Give me a hollar. I don't mind talking or giving you my opinion on something. Well good luck with everything and give Petey a hug and kiss for me.
Hugs,
Kim
Topic: RE: shih tzu's??????
Hi Kim!
Just got the "dogs" board, and saw your post. (why so late)
We have 5 year old Petey, who we adopted from a neighbors' out of town friend. When first married, my boss gave me one of his puppies. He was my precious baby before children. My heart was broken when he developed a kidney disease that he ended up dying from. After having Misha and knowing how wonderful shih tzu's are, we couldn't pass up another one. Petey being older, we were worried he might not love us like his original family. I was really concerned because he did bark at my son & I when we picked him up and seemed aggressive. But now he is my shadow, wherever I am so is he. Except when my hubby comes home he has running fits and tinkles---which thrills him to death. I tease him that he loves Petey more than me. (We have to take him for rides, and he makes special trips for Krystal burgers-----I know, not really good, but what can I say.)
Since I have just now found your post---I'm sure that Mijit is doing great and you all are spoiling her rotten!
Would love to hear back from you about your wls experience. I am preop, waiting to hopefully get approval from BC/BS after 6 month diet req. I have been checking out board off/on for over year and have really enjoyed the Boards and profiles. ( Will have to check yours out next)
Take care and enjoy Mijit!!!!!
