don't forget to check with the social service department at the hospital..... frequently, they have a deal with a local hotel for reduced rates for families...  you have to give them a code number, etc...and the rate is lower.... Good luck!  Mary C

 When O was calling around for rates I did ask for hospital discounts...and a couple of them had them but don't offer the discount price while there is a big convention in town..?? Becouse they can get the big money from the people there for the conventions... I still think they should honor there discounts with the hospitals....grrr ..oh well it will work out...

Like Jen said, I don't think there's enough room for more than one support person to sleep overnight.  They'll bring a cot in for you, and there's a nice family waiting room at the corner of the bariatric wing that I've seen people sleeping in.  I think St. V's is very family friendly....I just don't think you'll want A LOT of people there as you'll be busy recovering.  Let me know if you have any other questions!
