Hi Guys,

Well, I ate a lot of crap today. I've been frustrated by the fact that I've been bouncing up and down the same four lbs for a few weeks now and worrying that my weight loss might be over and I think I took my feeling out on food today. I know, it makes very little sense, but felt the need to come clean!

I think my new goal is messing with my head and the fact that my weight loss has slowed down is too!

B - 3 scrambled eggs with cheese and sausage, 2 slices of buttered low carb toast
S - 1 oz pringles
S - A piece of pumpkin bread - it's gone now, gave to neighbor!
L - 2 colby jack cheese sticks and .5 cup whole milk and .5 cup Hoods
S - About 20 hersheys kisses
D - Beef enchilada with sour cream
S - 1 oz pringles
S - Cookies and cream protein drink with 2 oz Hoods and 2 oz water

Drank a gallon of water and SF kool aid

Totals - Carbs 104, Protein 129

Fitness: None - rest day

Good Evening!

There must be something in the air because the carb monster and sugar **** are trying to beat me down. I am not hungry per se. I just like the idea of potatoes and chocolate.

B - Shani's High Protein Frapp
L - 3 oz. Pot Roast and 1/4 C Mashed Potatoes
D - Protein Shake

97 g. Protein, 25 g. Carbs

80 oz. Fluids (Water, Decaf Coffee, Cream, Raspberry Lemonade)

Fitness: None, damn cold.

My scale has stayed steady for a week now. I am so strict about my carbs--no more than 30 g. Tomorrow is my DH and my date day.  I think I will eat whatever sounds good to me regardless of carb count to see if it shakes up my body (brain.) I will make sure to get in my protein.

Three Things I am Grateful for Today:
1. Grace
2. The Ability to Pursue my Bachelor's Degree (I graduate in May!)
3. My Family

Jillian, maybe you can weigh yourself less and expect to lose less per week, say 1/2 to 1 pound?  It will probably take you longer to get down another 15.  You can do it!

Tonight I had a kid free evening (thanks to baba, my mother-in-law).  My hubby and I went out to The Keg for dinner - SO GOOD!!!

B-protein shake
L-cheese string
D-1 bite of hubby's prime rib - amazing!, chicken fajitas (no wrap) with cheese, sour cream, and avocado - it looked like barf when I mixed it all together, but it was so yum!
S-more chicken fajita insides - brought home a doggy bag from the Keg.
S- I plan to have more of the chicken fajitas

I'm a DSer
on 1/16/09 11:27 am, edited 1/16/09 11:28 am

I am over 2 years post-op and in maintenance mode. I have to intake higher amount of carbs than the average DSer daily in order to help STOP losing weight. Good thing is, it doesn't affect me in any way (no negative side effects). Just want those reading to know if a DSer can't stop losing weight, the surgeon recommends they up their carb intake. That is what I am doing and it is helping me to maintain my weight and not lose anymore. I concentrate more on my protein and make sure I do eat enough high carbs, since my metabolism is on turbo mode right now and yeah after 2 years post-op. My DS is rocking. Reality is, I eat almost like a normal non-op person out there and no one notices or can tell I had WLS. I can eat more now, but not too much. Right now, I don't pay mind to anything that I eat. If I am hungry, I eat, no drama, issues, pity party, whining or feeling guility about it and it feels great that I do not need to deal or count calories or fat. Now, I don't even have to deal with carbs (for how long not sure, but for now, carbs are my friend to help me stop losing anymore weight). All I need to focus on is making sure I meet my protein quota for the day and that is it (also my vitamins and supplements). Life really is very beautiful living with the DS.

Jillian,

Let yourself off the Frakin' Hook.
I know what you mean with the whole 4 lbs bouncing around thing. Of course, I am not working out like you nor have I been in any way disciplined.
But, sometimes, I get pretty disappointed with my DS when I can't lose weight eating 80-100 carbs per day.

So, I took it down a notch on the carbs and I am trying to move as much as I can with the toddler.
BTW-I am FRAKIN' so glad that BSG is on...
Bev, IC you like BSG too. Frak Yeah!

The Food:
Enormous piece of homemade quiche with ham, cheese, spinach and mushrooms. Only ate a few bites of the crust.
2 scoops protein in Coffee with some SF Vanilla Syrup

A large Cheddar Brat with Melted Cheese on top
4 Tortilla Chips

3/4 scoop of Protein in 1/2 packet of Swiss Miss Cocoa and Coffee

Gyro Meat with the sauce, onions and tomato
10 french fries with mayo dip
Diet Coke

Water & Vitamins Today and 3000 steps on the Pedometer

Fat: 86 grams
Protein:  147 grams
Net Carbs:  53 grams
May eat more gyro meat in a bit or two for a snack.

Grateful for:
Frakin' Battlestar Galactica and BigLove on Sunday
