Why can't I eat Chinese food anymore?

I thought that's what it stood for but for some reason I thought it WAS salt.  Man!  That is scary.

Ask them if they are using MSG in their cooking.  If they are, then ask them if they can cook it without the MSG for you and see how that goes.

I don't know why either, but I can't eat Asian food any more and I loved it!     Even so, I love my new body more!!

I even this far out cant tolerate asian foods.  I have even ordered them without the MSG to no prevail.  From time to time I can order shrimp dishes without the veggies and just a little sauce that has no MSG and tolerate this well.  Sure miss the Kung Pao Chicken too!

Do you have problems with bread products?  A lot of people who have had the DS have problems with foods which contain wheat and/or wheat flour.  What most people DON'T know is that soy sauce contains wheat (I only know this because our youngest daughter was diagnosed with Celiac Disease last year).

Don't know if that's what is causing your problem or not, but I thought I would mention it, just in case -

I normally don't have any problems with wheat bread and even though I haven't had a lot of it, white bread hasn't made me sick when I have eat it.  I Dunno

Wow that really sucks.  I've eaten Chinese twice since surgery and had no trouble except with broccoli which gives me AWFUL gas no matter how I eat it.

I agree about making it yourself though.  Get a recipe for a chinese dish you love and make it at home with scratch ingredients (don't use one of those packets), maybe that will help you figure it out.  It could be something as simple at corn starch which is in almost everything they make.

Did you have soy sauce with it?   Wheat is the first ingredient in soy sauce.   I'd forgotten that and I made a delicious dipping sauce for fried tofu.   I haven't been able to tolerate wheat since my surgery.   It gives me gas and dhr, though, not nausea and vomiting.

I think that the wrapping for the dumplings are made from rice.   I could be wrong about that.   But if you have a problem with rice, that might be the culprit.

Lots of Asian restaurants cook with Canola oil and some people have problems with that.

I hope you can track this down and figure out what the problem is.   I'd hate if I had to give up Asian food!

I didn't use any soy sauce.  Not unless something was made with it (I didn't add any to anything).  I haven't had any problems with wheat products either though.
I didn't eat any dumplings either.  Mainly all I had was chicken.  I did have a wonton with the cream cheese in it and the red sauce over it.
Humm, strange!  I sure would like to know what it is that's causing the problem.

I can only have Chinese if I'm off work the next day because the gas and bloating are so bad that it lasts well into the next day. It's awful. I don't bother with it anymore.
