How do you calculate how much your excess skin weighs?

The skin of an average adult weighs 8-10 lbs and averages an area of about 22 sq ft.  That being said, we aren't normal yet now are we?  I am quite interested in this sort of thing right now because I am having a panniculectomy November 19th.  I am quite anxious and it seems to be getting worse the closer it gets.

My surgeon said on average we lose 60% of out total excess weight loss the first year, 80% at 18 months and then it trickles off after that.

Going off your numbers, -74lbs, you have lost 69% and you are only 7 months out.  You are doing great!  I know it doesn't seem like it but may I say, "You look fabulous!"

I empathize with you, I just cannot seem to lose the last 30 lbs and it is driving me nuts.

Good luck with everything and I believe you are right on goal but like me, you set stringent goals for yourself. My goal was goal weight by 1 yr anniversary and I missed it by 30 lbs.

Thanks Jaime.  I'm sure you can appreciate how effing frustrating this is.  It's just weird to go from literally FALLING off, to a near standstill.  Messes with your head just a little bit, and it's scary.
