Does weight loss affect eye size (contact lens fit)?

Silly question, but I was fitted for contacts when I was 100 pounds heavier and now need to re-order them.  My prescription is still accurate but I'm wondering if the lenses will fit the same after the weight loss.

Any contact lens users notice any change in the fit of their lenses since their weight loss?

Contact lens fit changes if your blood pressure changes.  So yes, it can.

This is good to know.  My BP was on the high end of the "normal" range back then, which is high for my BP history, and now is back to low which is "normal" for me.  I think I should consider a re-fitting.

i think I remember learning somewhere that weight fluctuations do impact the fit of contacts.

Absolutely!  My contact fit changed dramatically when I went in August (100 lbs down).

I appreciate it.  I placed my refill order online yesterday and then it dawned on me that my eyes might have changed in size too.  Glad I got some great responses which enabled me to cancel that order and make an appointment for a re-fitting.

just having diabetes makes corrective eye surgery a poor choice as the cornea changes thickness with your glucose levels
