Is there anything I can do about this hormone situation?

LOL, Michele. Believe me, if I had some lying around, I'd be cracking open a bottle.

I had a complete hysterectomy when I was 30, did hormone therapy for years then when I got so sick, I quit taking the hormones.  After my surgery, I was like, WTF?? HELP!  So I did take the Xanax for a while til things smoothed out, probably a good thing or I would definitely been on the 10 o'clock news!

Hope things ease up soon!

Hi Jenna
Sorry I dont have any advice.  I went through my own hormonal hell with PMDD and endometrial hyperplasia a few years ago.  Just wanted to say sorry you're going through this.

 Hi Joanne,

Thanks. A big part of the reason I had this surgery was because I really want to have a child, and I'm also trying to stave off needing a hysterectomy at age 34, since my hyperplasia is still mild.

Hormones have been screwing with me for years, thanks to not enough estrogen, and now the pendulum seems to have swung the other way! Hopefully, it'll all level out.

I'm ten years older and was done having children, so the hysterectomy was an entirely different decision process for me.  But I was still able to control the hyperplasia really well with progesterone for a long time.

Hopefully this hormone stuff will all resolve for you, I know it's not easy.

Oh man i definately feel ya on this one. I was (maybe still am) a crazy ***** Best advice that i can give ya is to just tough out this storm (and man, it's a huge storm!) Since you can't take BC pills, i don't really know what advice to offer you there. And I am no expert on PCOS, so i can't help ya there either.

If you aren't talking to a therapist I would start. I would even recommend finding a good psychiatrist because like others have said Xanax is a savior. I also just switched anti-depressants from celaxa to zoloft. I kind of studied all the anti-depressants out there and went into his office kind of knowing the direction I wanted to take for my medication. Some studies on Zoloft say it helps with PMDD, which might be some of what you are experiencing now. But, I am no doctor, so I could never say which would work for anyone else.

I felt INSANE for the first few months hormone wise. I am happy to report that finally with hitting month 5 that things are calming down there. I see the therapist every 3 weeks and the psychiatrist once a month. For me it is just a necessity for my sanity's sake. You will prob have days you feel like a complete loon, but you are sooooooooo not alone! It is normal what you are going through.

Sorry I couldn't offer much more than people have already recommended, just wanted to let you know that you are not alone and hopefully the next few months things should start calming down! Best of luck to you!

Thank you all for the support and practical advice. A little update: it FINALLY ended today.

It feels like an actual black cloud has lifted. Here's hoping next month is a little easier.
