Almost one year out! Long, with LOTS of pictures!
our dear sweet jessy - i sit here crying and smiling all at the same time. your journey is heartbreaking and fabulous all rolled in together.
i too have a pcp who would just look at me and say "i'm not surprised (at whatever aliment) it's all that fat. just stop eating." Now she is begging me to stop by and asking family members if they have pictures on their cell phone of me.
you are, my love, such an inspiration and wonderful role model. thanks for taking the time to share your story with us.
we need to keep an eye on you, bet you are going to go places and do things that really matter and make a huge mark on this world.
sending warm and gentle hugs your way.
congrats a million times over on the many wows and successes you've had.
the best is yet to come my switch sister.

There isn't going to be a dry eye in the place today Jess!!! Wow! What a wonderfully written story of your journey so far. You are a really special young lady and I'm looking forward to many more posts as your life continues.
I really think you are destined to help and support other young people in similar situations as you were in. That is such a hard age and to have someone who understands would be invaluable. Good for you to keep going in the face of adversity. You inspire me!!!
Cheers,
Cathy

Jessy, I always enjoy reading your posts. You are so articulate and just a wonderful young lady, I would be proud to have a girl like you as a daughter. I have no doubt that you are going to succeed and get to a comfortable weight where you can enjoy life to it's fullest like you're starting to do now.
Thanks for sharing your story, I know you will be an amazing inspiration for anyone considering our life saving surgery.

Thank you for sharing your story. You are a beautiful woman inside and out. What a great family as well. Allow me to preface this next statement with...I have a precious family...but I am not sure I have an aunt who would give me money to help me to the extent your aunt did. What a lady! How blessed you are but I am sure I don't have to tell you that. =)
Hi, Jessy!
I am still in the hospital--my DS was Wednesday--in the same room you were in a year ago. Dr. Marchesini walked in to see me and start me on liquids while I was reading your post so I showed him your pictures. He was very happy to see them and asked me to show them to the nurses and staff today as he knows they will remember you. He is very pleased with your progress...I just wanted to pass that infomation along to you.
Keep up the good work! You certainly have every reason to be proud of your progress.
Hugs!

Oh Jesse
God Bless You for being such a beautiful and inspiring young lady. You are proof that age doesn't matter when it comes to life experience because you have a story to tell and what a story it is! I love the way you write because you draw us all in to your world and let us experience the pain and joy of what life is like in your body. Out of such a tragedy as your uncle's death you show us that so much good can come out of it and i know he's so very proud of you. You've come thru a lot, but I believe everything we go thru in life happens for a reason and i believe one of the reasons you went thru this was to be an inspiration not only to us newbies, but to the vets and others on this great board, your neighbors, family, friends, and mostly to the world.
There are so many who can relate to your wonderful story and you give them something they had lost: you give them hope. I'm so glad your experience was smooth and you had a wonderful surgeon like Dr. M. Not only should OH magazine publish your mothers poem, but they should publish your personal story as well. It could very well be the deciding factor to so many who are contemplating WLS. I'm so glad you found the DS-this is just a great testimony to its wonderful benefits and its ability to not only change lives, but to save lives. The DS has done something big for you and I can tell you're gonna also do something big in the world. It's so obvious to me that you will.
I wish you all the luck in the world and hope that your life gets more and more beautiful as each day goes by.

I have tears in my eyes as I am writing this. I can't even express how happy I am for you and that you got the DS. I can't even imagine what it must have been like to be in your shoes but I think you are an amazing and very brave person who has been through so much and you have come so far. You look great now and by this time next year you will look even better.
I just want to give you a big hug right now. You really are an inspiration.
