Did anyone really need

I was given one at the hospital prior to discharge, which I did use for a while.  Many of my supplements are in capsules, which I dutifully split apart and put the contents on my tongue.  After, a few incidents of having them expel from my nose from near choking episodes, I now just put the capsule in my mouth and hold it for a minute.  I no longer crush, either.  No problems whatsoever by swallowing them.

I never used one.  From the time I got home from 'out of the country' (DS in Brazil with Dr. Marchesini) two weeks later, I swallowed them whole.  At first, just a couple at a time. Now by the HANDFUL.  Swallowing pills has never been an issue with me 'before' OR 'after' my DS.  The vitamins never seemed to bother my surgery either.  From what I remember about those early days (almost 5 years now), NOT GETTING TO GULP was more annoying!  

 I'm thinking the no gulp thing may get old for a bit myself!

Have no fear...the NO GULPING ZONE does not last forever!  WOO HOO!  But let me tell ya...if you are a gulper BEFORE wls and you try to gulp AFTER your surgery...go at your own risk .  I can't remember WHEN I was able to start gulping again, but it seems as though is was around the 3 or 4 month time (5 years ago plays havoc on the post-menopausal memory! I just remember that all of a sudden ONE DAY I gulped and it didn't hurt to do so...ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! And I have been gulping ever since!

Anyway, I hope you are as excited with all of the new changes and the daily adventures of your surgery, that GULPING will seem like only a slight nuisance.  To me, EVERY DAY felt like CHRISTMAS!  

 Yes, I confess. I AM A GULPER! Uh oh! Just like everything else, I guess it will be a new learning thing. I am soooo excited! AND I have a new job waiting for me at the end of my healing! Thanks for making me smile :)

NO! I did use Centrum chewables for like 2 weeks then went to Maker's Mark Complete. Early out I took one pill ever 10 min 2 if they were SUPER TINY! Now I just throw them back, take a drink and all done. It's not as complicated as the NUTs want to make it but it is a learning thing. YMMV! Good luck to you!!

I used one for the first couple of weeks, and it was NASTY.  If I had it to do over, I would have just swallowed the pills whole that I could handle, and just waited a couple weeks to take the ones I couldn't deal with. Our bodies have enough of that stuff stored up to do without it for that long. When I think how horrid it was crushing all those pills and pouring out capsules and mixing it with applesauce and then choking it down...UGH!! I can't believe I put myself through all of that when two weeks later I was knocking back horse pills like always.
