OT: acne and vitamins for normies??
Becky,
I have also had lots of issues (pre & post op) and have tried everything except the Accutane the dermatologist suggested - the whole concept freaked me out.
Anyway, I too have a terrible time finding something that actually works. My dermatologist prescribed a medication that helped, but of course cost too much. Of course I failed with most OTC treatments, trying everything from Proactive to Clearasil. I finally found Acne Free - you can get it at the drug store - it's Rx strength Benzoyl Peroxide & maintains my 15 year old skin - stuck in a 35 year old body!
I don't know if vitamins would work, since it's bacteria stuck in pores, but it would be worth a try!
I work at OB/GYN office & yes, BCP pills can help with acne, but sometimes the emotional effects BCP is worse thank the acne. Make sure your daughter talks to her Dr. about these issues! Another tip, since she's a student, your state may have a state funded family planning program that pays for BC. The student center at her school should know, as should any OB/GYN who accepts Medicaid. (I thought I'd mention this since your daughter is a starving student!)

Dermatologist prescrition would be good -sounds like it is hormonal.
I also use the benzoyl cream (10% strength walmart brand) at night and neutrogena (walmart brand) wash in the shower that has 2% salic acid (spelling).
