I got 2 of them my first 2 days here. I just blocked and deleted them. Haven't gotten anymore. Didn't see a need to deactivate just because someone got spammy. This is a really great place to learn. And it seems to me that if I am going to learn the truth about the biggest decision of my life I can't be letting a fruit loop like that scare me off.

Relax, it's spam just like you'd get in your junk email. Click report, then block the jerk.

Yeah I got a couple of those to when I first joined. But those were no where near as creepy or at confusing as this one I got. (I still haven't figured out what the point was, talk me out of having surgery?)

Hi there friend.I was just browsing through -partly from curiosity -partly to see how dangerous this surgery really is.
I myself i am obese around 170kg (370 pounds) but to tell you the truth i am not interested on loosing weight.A lot of people push about this procedure and i just was curious to know what was all the fuss about especially after having some friends that nearly died from this surgerys...
A friend did it a while ago and things didn't go as they were supposed to .He nearly died from complications but as he did a lap band he was lucky it was reversable.Another friend did it too and while he was always very fat (close to 300kg-650 pounds)he was also tall and strong as an ox.He did the same surgery and through he had no major complications the result was awefull. He lost a lot of muscle and after a couple of months he looked like he was dying from cancer ....with patches of skin hanging everywhere.Eventually he gained a little of weight back and some muscle and did some cosmetic surgery to remove skin but really....he regretted it 100 times...We even had  a couple of cases of people that actually died...and as usual their fat was blamed..That's really sad as in my island were i live(in cyprus, europe) we have had some really huge guys that lived up to their late 70's ...

In any case all i see the chubby guys get the procedure ok without any problems but the really big guys often have no updates after the procedure so i can only think about the worst....

In any case i was thinking about this while i was browsing and when i found your profile i decided to tell my 2 cent of worth of thoughts..I hope i did not bothered you just think twice about it!

I think they should use a more androgenous name - like Pat.

Wow, I can see who speaks their mind here. lol  I am not amish for now, so I can have surgery in a hospital with a phone etc. haha- Baptist really, but enjoyed a glass of wine with dinner tonight since that will not be something to have after surgery.

I do think people seeing me here is different than e-mail spam.  They can spam my e-mail, but I hope they can't read it!!

No, I am not serious about deactivating, but showing my profile to friends only is right up my comfort  zone!  Jen, then you can tell me how to post pictures because someone here noted I need to get familiar with the internet.haha

I am actually married to a computer genious, but I am "just" in the medical field after 6.5 years of college. They covered lots of things about the human body, but not too much about public forums:) (True, but I do love to be funny:)

Well, I feel put upon and just left out. No spam messages for me here on OH. No stalkers. No hate mail.

I do have at least one person who has me blocked as I have nothing of value to offer them. So I'm not completely without drama.

Haha, I am sure you are very loved here. lol  I think they look for posts that scream newbie..like "Help, I am new here."  Someone said they become your friend then ask for money.  So if any of my few friends here ask me for money, I will....lol

Same here, Christine.   Although I did have an IRL stalker follow me here.   I've just recently been blocked by a few people after being on this forum five years.  I'm getting contentious in my old age, I guess.
