It took me 4-6 months to start liking the DS... Don't worry, it will happen eventually. I don't think anyone here was in love with the DS so soon post-op, you're not alone :)

Is it too early to try the probiotics for the smell?

Awwww ((hugs)).  I had surgery 2 days before you and believe me it's normal to feel this way.  Monday and Tuesday were miserable for me.  I even asked myself for a brief second (what the hell did I do!?!) But I got over that.  Each day gets a little better, not much, but a little. And those little by little will add up and you will feel so much better.

The gas and poo...OMG! I scare myself when I go.  But I signed up for this, and its not like I didn't know not to expect this.

Feel free to message me if you ever want to talk since we had such close surgery dates.

If it helps you feel better, I was cussing myself out last night asking myself why didn't I have a Delmonico steak before surgery.  LOL

I want meat right now in the worst way. A steak would be heavenly right now. And shrimp. And....

Once I can eat again I intend to stick a pork shoulder in the crock pot until it's all soft and falls apart. I then intend to eat that and only that for 24 hours. LOL.

Oh trust me, sweetie, it WILL get better.    I hated those ******g supplements and talked the nut at GHP into letting me try some real food at five days post-op, and I remember wanting egg salad, cottage cheese and mashed potatoes.   They all tasted like manna from heaven after all of GHP's "product."       Now, I'm not recommending you go out and do the same, but I'm still alive to tell the tale......

Make sure your stomach never gets too empty too....that might be contributing to the nausea.   Did Kemmeter give you Lortab?  I found that taking that really helped take the edge off of both my pain and emotions.   I just kind of blissed out for several days, until I felt a bit better.

Try taking peppermint tea too, that helped me with nausea, especially first thing in the morning.

Good luck, hun, this too shall pass.    I just finished a nice cup of Haagen Dazs butter pecan ice cream....you WILL be able to eat normally and enjoy life again!

I think that some of my grumpiness has definitely been hunger. I made sure today that I had a packet of "product" whenever I started feeling hungry and blah. So far I've had 45 grams of protein and 64oz of Powerade Zero, plus a cup of decaf green & white tea with lemon.

I'm tempted to call one of the nuts @ GHP tomorrow and beg for mashed potatoes (with gravy!) and cottage cheese. I would love anything not originally in powdered form right now.

I wish you the best and appreciate your honesty on how you feel.  My sugery isn't until August 17th.  It's hard to imagine how one will feel or what the pain will be like til you go through it.  You have made it sound so real.

Thanks again, and best wishes for your recovery!
