Who was it whose surgeon said they would kick them out of the hospital on day 2?

I looked but couldn't find this post from a few days ago or so?  Someone who said their surgeon told them they would be discharged for a 3+ hour drive home on DAY TWO?

I didn't post this, but my surgeon has me down for 2 days and I have a 2 1/2 hr drive home!

I talked to my insurance yesterday and they said I'd only be approved for one night stay unless I need to stay longer.  Honestly, I'm freaking out a bit.  I'm a slow healer, and I don't want to die...that would suck.  I have family in the area and I might shack up with them for a bit.

I told my husband that he needs to back me up.  If I feel I need to stay, damn it, I'm staying!  I'd still need clearance from my surgeon though.

As best I remember, my insurance approved 2 days but I actually stays 4. Dr. approved, no problem.

My problem is that my surgeon only wants me to stay one night.

Get a new surgeon!
Seriously, he really only thinks you should stay one night? That's insane.

When I had surgery in February to fix what was wrong, I stayed 2 days after. And that was nowhere near as complicated as the DS! That's ridiculous.

That's crazy. I can't even imagine trying to leave the day after surgery.

Man, I was so doped up after day 4 in the hospital; no way could I have driven myself home.  No way.

Seems way too risky. My doctor said he would not even let me go home unless I felt good enough and until he felt I was strong enough. I think a qualitative assessment is more valuable for discharge criteria, personally.
