I've got a DATE!!!...???

.......kind of.... Okay so my surgeons office called me today and asked of I knew if my EGD hpylori biopsy results were in yet. I told them as a matter of fact I called today and they are, and it is negative and they will fax them in the morning. So Diana, the PA says "well how's monday for surgery?" UMMMM Monday??, THIS monday??? Holy He**!!!! WOW!! I was speechless, I didn't expect it to be THIS sudden, I was thinking i would have 3-4wks time to prepare and get my ducks in a row first. She said.."yeah this monday, you can do all your pre op stuff tomorrow locally, like the ekg, xrays etc, then be here on monday!" I was like...umm I dunno if I can find someone to watch the children and dunno if my hubby can get time off from work. UGGGGG!!! Sooooo I call my mom and her and my dad just happen to be coming into town for a visit THIS weekend, and she said she'd be more than happy to stay with my boys...WOOHOO My mother is amazing!! THEN i call my husband at work, and he is told that he CAN NOT get vacation time until after June 1st. BLAH!!! Of course we can not financially go w/o a paycheck for a whole weeks time. So he WILL have to stay home and work. Then I called my good homie LeeAnn L. and her first question is "did you get insurance approval?" UMMMMMMM crap!! I knew Diana didn't mention something... so here's the other predicament. I am sooo worried that if I have my surgery monday, and they submit approval tomorrow or after surgery and I get denied than I will be responsible for $18,000!! YOWSA and I know we CAN NOT do that. I'm scared to death enough as it is about this whole surgery much less going through it alone. If my husband can't go with me, I have NO ONE to go to NYC w/me (7hrs) I will NOT be able to drive myself home either. My surgeon wants me to stay in the city for 2 days afterwards to make sure I am complication free and so I don't have such a rough ride home. All of my friends have families and can not go w/me. My mom is 60 and said it's beyond her at this point, being able to travel and be in a hotel room by herself and to be responsible for driving us home...which I totally understand. SO..... I need advice from some of the ppl that I admire the most....ALL OF YOU!! I hope someone has some great ideas out there on how I can get there on Monday and get back safely etc..... I'm SO SO excited and WANT this to happen on Monday!!! Hoping to be switched VERY soon, Marcie

HEHEHE!!! You were typing as fast as the words were entering your mind, huh? LOL!!! I am sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo excited for you!!! I hope that everything works out for you. I live ALLLLL the way over here in Washington state...DOGGONIT!!! If I was just a little closer I'd come and help you...I'd take you to and from the hospital, hotel, etc...Sheesh! I'll say it again...WHY do you have to live so stinking far away!!! Ugh! However, MONDAY, huh! And you were jealous! Now I'm the jealous one! You brat! LOL! No, really, I am just extatic at the fact that you are able to have this surgery. I'm so proud of you for keeping your head high even when there were roadblocks. You could have easily been discouraged and threw your hands up and just quit...But you didn't! You perservered and kept on with it! I am so proud of you for that! You go girl! God will make a way for EVERYTHING to work out and come together. I will keep you in my prayers and pray that everything works out for you so that you can be 'Switched' on Monday! WOOOOOHOOOOOO!!! HIIIIIIIII Darcy I know....can you believe that SH**??!! LOL OMG I was sooo jealous that you had a date, then WHAMMO I get a call today!! Thank you SO SO much for the very sweet words you said to me, and about me!! They mean the world to me. And yes...why do you have to live allllllllll the way over there??!! Sheesh, ummm I think you need to move NOW!! tyvm I think we have a game plan pretty much worked out.... and it goes like dissssss : Sunday my husband drives me to LeeAnn L.'s house in Binghamton, where I will pick up the Greyhound Bus from there to NYC, then catch a cab to my hotel which is riiiiiight next to the hospital. I'll stay the night there by myself, and walk over in the morning for surgery. LeeAnn was SUPER sweet to offer that her and Josh (her dh) will travel to NYC Monday and spend the day w/me after surgery etc, so I have *someone* with me atleast. can you believe that??!!! She means sooo much to me, she is the sweetest, most caring and loving person I've ever known!! (and we met here at OH) Okay..soo... then my husband will stay home to work and my mom(maybe) will stay and watch the boys while shane is working. If not my mom than a girl I used to babysit(she's 19 now) will come and watch them. THEN (im out of breaf btw) If I'm doing as good as I anticipate, I should be released by Wed. morning/noon...and My DH will travel to NYC pick me up...HOPEFULLY while stopping in Binghamton to pick up LeeAnn,(because my husband is not the brightest bulb in the box when it comes to directions if you know what i'm saying) and pick me up and travel back to Lee's and stay a night there (or a hotel) then proceed home first thing Thursday(2 1/2hr trip). Now...the trip from NYC to Lee's is about 3 hrs, but she has sweetly told me it will probably turn into a 6hr trip, due to pain and needing to walk etc. My surgeon wants me to stay 2 days in NYC after being released from the hospital BUT I think I can convince him to only travel the 3hrs instead. That way we save MAJOR $$$. Okay did ya get all that?? umm yeah I do talk as fast as I type btw. So that's the plan STAN!! I hope it works out, I will know more "for sures" tomorrow after talking with the PA Diana. So wish me luck and I will DEFINTLY let you know if and when i'm leaving, and I'm sure my LeeAnn L. will keep you all informed of my progress etc !! Keep sending up those prayers!! Hugs, Marcie

Sharon Thanks so much for the kind words.. You are right, I do have a great friend in Leeann..at this point, I don't know how'd I'd do *this* w/o her! I'll know for sure on friday!! They submitted my pre cert today Diana said, and is hoping to have an answer by Friday, if no answer, then no surgery on Monday. Then she will schedule as soon as I'm pre cert'd. thanks, Marcie

Dia, Thanks so much!! I'm soooo excited. Actually I'm a lil more calm about *it* happening, than i thought I would be. Last night I was a mess but I'm more at peace w/it today. Yes, the planning has been totally chaotic at this point, and I'm trying to tie up loose ends etc. But I have a plan and I'm sure it'll go smoothly. Keep those good vibes coming my way!! hi, diana called me today too, i'm tenatively set for july 24. going and comming, i would check out amtrak, get bussiness class tickets, the ride will be nice,smooth, the bath rooms clean, you can bring a cooler. and business or first class has free snack service and researve seats. take a cabe to and from penn station 34 st to 70th st, is about 4 miles, amtrak can make special accomodations for your trip, just like the airlines , wheel chair if needed, porter, what ever. some trains have sleeper/ cabins, nice, you don't say where, but 7 hours sounds like saracuse, or bingham, buffalo, the chicago train might go your way and they have sleepers. that would be my choice. best of luck,
